The combination of trainer Peter Jolly and apprentice Amy Herrmann got the Oakbank meeting off to a good start when Doohan, the $1.50 favourite, was the three length winner of the opening event of 1050 metres at Oakbank on Friday.

Having its eighth start the Danetop gelding, from the Christmas Tree mare Crossword, Doohan was well placed and beat Our Snippy $4.20 for Kirsten McGowan and Shanye Cahill.

Leonesse $10 was a farther one and a half lengths away third for Karen Byrnes and Jordan Frew.

The $3.30 chance Rich Pride provided Murray Bridge mentor John Hickmott and rider Shayne Cahill with a one and three quarter length victory in race two which was contested over 1400 metres.

From the Personal Flag mare Flag of Pride and fathered by Danerich, Rich Pride was no farther back than third for the entire journey and beat the $1.90 favourite Tang Prosper for trainer Tony McEvoy and jockey Matthew Neilson.

Back on Target $51 was another one length away filling the minor placing for the combination of William Smart and Simon Price.

Under the care of Karoonda trainer Darryl Hewitt and having the services of Michael Hoppo the Foxhound sired C'Mon Now, form Just Do It Now, a daughter of Devaraja, was well placed and beat Lucky Sunday, the $1.85 favourite for mentor David Jolly and rider Justin Potter.

Little Sip $4.60 was a farther one and three quarter lengths away third for Heather and Kevin Frew and son Jordan.

Coming from a rearward position and making ground over the concluding stages Birchmore Road beat the Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas trained Clare Lindop ridden Forcryingoutloud $5.50. Tristacat $3.60 was three quarters of a length away third for Jon O'Connor and Nathan Rose.

The combination of Oakbank trainer Barry Brook and apprentice Amy Herrmann were seen in the winner's circle after Tureen $4.60 scored a three and a quarter length win in race seven which was run over 1400 metres.

From the Will Dancer mare Cuplet the Keep the Faith sired Tureen was well placed and beat Sing Song Dance $16 for mentor Gillian Davey and rider Clare Lindop.

Starting at $4.20 Zai Jian was a farther three quarters of a length away filling the minor placing for Jake Stephens and Matthew Neilson.

Being well placed throughout the 1400 metre final event Regal Hero gave trainer Len Jarvis and rider David Tootell a one and a half length win.

A Regal Shot gelding from the Zabeel mare Bijette, Regal Hero beat the Jeffrey Maund ridden Ken Sweeney trained Quick Thoughts $4.40.

Steely Resolve $4.40 was a farther short neck away filling the third placing for Jon O'Connor and Todd Pannell.
