Morphettville Parks Races Report

Victorian apprentice Jacob Rule and trainer Dennis O'Leary scored the first points of the day when Adoptme Two $2.30 was the long neck winner of the opening event of 1550 metres on the Parks track at Morphettville on Saturday.

Sired by Staaraq the six year old gelding from the Snaadee mare Adopted, Adoptme Two led throughout and beat the $2 favourite Ace or Joka for Millicent trainer Ian Walker and rider Shayne Cahill.

Woodland Jack $9 was a farther one and a quarter lengths away third for Richard Jolly.

The progeny of Face Value and the Staaraq mare Star Peril, Hidden Value $3.20 gave trainer Trevor Dansie and apprentice Amy Herrmann a half length win in the 1000 metre second race.

Being in the leading division throughout the event Hidden Value beat the David Hayes prepared Paul Gatt ridden Ransom Moment $5.

After leading from the gates Hot Diamond $3.50 was a farther three quarters of a length away, filling the minor placing, for Mark Minervini and Shane Cahill.

Trainer John O'Connor and Simon Price combined in the short head win of Lady Dynamo in the third event of 1400 metres.

Starting at $9 the Catbird mare, from the Deputy Governor matron Governing Spirit, Lady Dynamo came from a rearward position and beat Furline $7 for mentor Phillip Stokes and rider Jason Holder.

The $2.50 public elect Strum Cha was another one and a quarter lengths away third for Mark Kavanagh and Matthew Neilson.

Assertive Eagle brought up a duo of wins when she recorded a short neck victory in race four which was run over 1400 metres for trainer Tony McEvoy and rider Matthew Neilson.

Starting the $2.10 favourite the Danewin sired Assertive Eagle, from the Lure mare Wedgetail Eagle, started well and then drifted back into the body of the field before gaining speed once more and going on to beat Universal Bolt $7 for mentor Mark Minervini and apprentice Jacob Rule.

Artie's Angel $10 was a farther half neck away third for Mick Huxtable and Paul Gatt.

Having its 26th start and bringing up win number four Kellerman $12 gave his Langhorne Creek trainer Judy Potts and jockey Troy Baker a neck win in the 1550 metre fifth race.

From the At Talaq mare Golden Vine the Brief Truce sired Kellerman was always handy to the lead and beat Indeed I Am $8 for Kerrie Petrick and Amy Herrmann.

Cornish $7.50 was another one and a half lengths away third for Michael Hickmott and Libby Hopwood.

Big Slick brought up a double for trainer Dennis O'Leary and apprentice Jacob Rule in the 1300 metre sixth race. Winning by a margin of five lengths and starting at the odds of $11 the With Class sired Big Slick, from the Mister Frisky mare Boundary West, came from a midfield position to win.

Following a lengthy protest, Exalted Thomas $6.50 was awarded second position for trainer Roy Rogers and jockey Libby Hopwood with original second placegetter Mornin' Sam the $1.70 favourite being relegated a nose away third for Gary Searle and Adrian Pattterson.

Being a model of consistency over its first five runs the Vincent Bradley trained Shayne Cahill ridden Brad Star $5 was the neck winner of the 2400 metre seventh race.

A Staaraq gelding from the John's Hero mare Phantsiare, Brad Star was well placed and beat the Sam Turner prepared Jason Holder ridden Luvbite $5.

He's Hot To Trot $13 was one and three quarter lengths away third for Mick Whittle sand Adrian Patterson.

The combination of Strathalbyn based horseman Brian Mueller and apprentice Lauren Stojakovic were well pleased with the one and a quarter length win of Little Akie in the final event which was run over 1250 metres.

Starting at the odds of $11 the Akhadan fathered Little Akie, from the Blevicc matron Double Sprits, came from a rearward position to beat the Lloyd Kennewell cared for Paul Gatt mount Bertucci $6.

The last start winner Miss Remarkable $11 was another one and a half lengths away third for Roslyn Day and Clare Lindop.
