Murray Bridge Races Report

A Danerich sired three year old gelding Rich Pride, from the Personal Flag mare Flag of Pride, settled well and went on to beat another Hickmott trained runner the Ben Hoppo ridden Rich Gypsy $51.

After racing wide in the middle stages Anythingthatmoves $2.50 finished a head away third for Stuart Gower and Shayne Cahill.

Recording an all the way win Crocodile Tears gave his trainer Kirsten McGowan a one and three quarter length win in race two which was run over 2200 metres.

Sired by the Irish bred sire Street Cry from the Sound Reason mare Lady Ember, Crocodile Tears $26 beat Kerford, the $2.25 favourite, for the combination of Tony McEvoy and Jason holder.

Jaleo $41 was a farther half length away filling the minor placing for Stuart Dodd and Ben Hoppo.

The Hussonet three year old gelding Karacatis, the $3.80 equal favourite with the unplaced Serbian Crown, gave trainer Richard Jolly and rider Paul Gatt a one and three quarter length victory in race three which was contested over 1000 metres.

From the Redoute's Choice matron One in a Million, Karacatis was well placed and beat the Stuart Dodd trained Ben Hoppo ridden Heuriger $5.

The Bay Rod $31 was a farther half head away third for Will Clarken and Jason Holder.

The $2.60 public elect Swift Shamrock gave his trainer Lloyd Kennewell and rider Shayne Cahill a four and three quarter length win in the 1400 metre fourth race.

A Face Value three year old Swift Shamrock, from the Ascot Knight mare Misty Shamrock, was always in the leading division and beat the Mick Huxtable trained Clare Lindop ridden Halos Little Hussy $5.50.

Better Ark Up $7.50 was a farther one and a half lengths away third for Scott Trenowden and Libby Hopwood.

Trainer Richard Jolly and jockey Paul Gatt won their second race for the afternoon when Avalon $4 scored a four and a half length win in the 1000 metre fifth race.

Sired by the USA bred sire Country Reel from the Clay Hero mare Clay Finale, Avalon came from third to defeat Riley's Luck $6.50 for local mentor John Hickmott and rider Adrian Patterson.

Bigbadbarry $3.60 was another one and three quarter lengths away filling the minor placing for Ken Sweeney and Todd Pannell.

Starting at the odds of $7 Ultra Savings gave Mount Gambier trainer Jamie Opperman and rider Justin Potter a half neck wiin in the 2200 metre sixth race.

A Secret Savings gelding from the Shadeed mare Hultarani, Ultra Savings thundered home after being last at the home turn to beat the Trevor Day trained Libby Hopwood ridden Golden Schnapps $8.50.

Musty Springs $6.50 was a farther head away filling the minor placing for John Hickmott and Ben Hoppo.

After settling mid-field in a race which did not have a lot of pace in the early stages jockey Clare Lindop shot the Paul Beshara trained Schoorwin, the $3.70 equal favourite with the second place getter Damages, to the lead where the gelding went on to register a two and a half length win in the 1200 metre seventh race.

The Danewin sired Schoorwin, from the Export Price sired Violet Haze, defeated Damages for mentor Philip Cole and jockey Jason Holder.

Bicker $8 was a farther long head away third for Ken Sweeney and his apprentice Tillie Neve.

Punters ended the day on a positive note when the $3. 50 favourite Ticket To Vegas gave trainer Georgie Henderson and apprentice Scott Westover a three quarters of a length victory in the final event which was contested over 1400 metres.

From the Grand Lodge matron Evergreen the Rubiton fathered Ticket To Vegas was well in contention throughout the event before going on to beat to $6 chance Irish Cheer for Murray Bridge mentor Sue Nolan and jockey Clare Lindop.

Secret Vintage $3.80 was another short head away filling the minor placing for apprentice Jake Toeroek and his master Tony McEvoy.
