Adelaide Set for Hot Saturday of Racing

The Jayco Summer of Speed continues this weekend at Morphettville with three top quality races.

Race 4 – 2.30pm

The Group 2 Alcohol-Go-Easy Breeders Stakes (1200m)

Features the exciting unbeaten Lindsay Park, Queen Adelaide Stakes winner Regrowth. Dangers include the John Hawkes-trained Syrinx and Barabba Road. The Breeders Stakes has been won in the past by the likes of Tobin Bronze, Pago Pago, Gold Guru, Blevic, New Atlantis and Military Plume. Last year, Spring Carnival performer, Great Glen won for the Leon Macdonald stable.

Race 6 – 3.50pm

The Feltex Carpets RN Irwin Stakes (1100m)

One of the best sprints seen in SA in a long time. Field includes top class performers Bomber Bill, Super Elegant and Regal Kiss. Also features the Kangaroo Island Spring Carnival heroine, Empress Waltz.

Race 7 – 4.30pm

The CS Hayes Memorial Cup (1600m)

Named in honour of the SA Racing legend Colin Hayes who trained 98 Group 1 winners. Some of State’s best milers to take to track including the former West Australian trained, now at Lindsay Park, Lady Knockout, winner of the Belmont Guineas and Belmont Oaks. A victory in the race would provide Tony McEvoy and his team with a very special occasion.
