In a race that has attracted just eight final acceptances, McEvoy has decided to run two of his impressive youngsters.

Both of the Lindsay Park representatives, Regrowth and Rainbow Echo, have had one start each and on both occasions recorded easy wins.

Regrowth, a well bred daughter of Unbridled's Song owned by the Segenhoe Stud Syndicate, debuted at Victoria Park in mid December and she impressive McEvoy with her two length win over Half Edgy.

"This race was never in our plans for Regrowth," McEvoy noted this week. "But she showed enough pace on debut to force a re-think."

"There is a bit of form from the race and she has trained on well so she'll have this run, then maybe run in the Breeders' Stakes."

"We'll wait and see what to do with her after that, but she's bred to get over a bit further. She's a big, long stretchy filly and will only get better with time," McEvoy added.

The Swettenham Stud Syndicate and Lindsay Park Racing Syndicate owned Rainbow Echo was taken to Murray Bridge for her debut run and she made the race her own when despite being eased down won by nearly three lengths.

"Rainbow Echo showed excellent pace on debut and won very impressively in good time," McEvoy said.

"She is more suited at this sort of distance of the two but both are good chances."

The hardest for the pair to beat appears to be the David Balfour trained filly Cashkalani, a winner of two of her three starts to date including a last start three length demolition job of a juvenile event at Morphettville.

Another of the leading chances appears to be the John Hawkes trained filly Flew.

Beaten on debut in Melbourne in the Debutante Stakes behind Carlton Spirit, she then travelled to Adelaide and scored consecutive wins in October and November.
