RACE 1 – J BOAGS PREMIUM LIGHT SUPERVOBIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 990 METRES

 

ZUBENELGENUBI (Stephen Maskiell) was slow into stride.

 

At approximately the 700 metres JADEEBURKE (Jodi Borrett) laid out and was awkwardly placed on the heels of MY MISSY ROSE (Shannon Brazil), who at that time was laying in.  Shortly thereafter MY MISSY ROSE began to lay out and raced greenly thereafter.

 

Approaching the 350 metres MY MISSY ROSE (Shannon Brazil) laid in and as a result appeared to clip the heels of JADEEBURKE (Jodi Borrett) and blunder, resulting in Jockey Brazil being dislodged.  Jockey Brazil was examined by the ambulance officers and passed fit to fulfill her remaining riding engagements.  A veterinary examination of MY MISSY ROSE failed to reveal any abnormalities.

 

GRINFUL (Shaun Hamer (a)) laid in over the concluding stages.

 

RACE 2 –BOAGS CENTRE FOR BEER LOVERS MAIDEN PLATE – 1175 METRES

 

GABRASELLESSIE (Dean Larsson) and BOUNDARY ROAD (Phillip Crich) bumped shortly after the start. 

 

BUSTER ROAD (Shaun Hamer (a)) was a little slow into stride.

 

DUCHESS OF TIME (Jodi Borrett) laid out and over-raced in the back straight.

STAR FOUR NANCY (Shannon Brazil) hit the running rail rounding the home turn, tired entering the home straight and tailed the field.  A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly blew and had poor recovery but there were no further abnormalities.  STAR FOUR NANCY was stood down until she can trial satisfactorily. 

BUSTER ROAD (Shaun Hamer (a)) laid in in the home straight and was held up after the crossing.

 

OUT OF SYNC (Troy Atkin) laid in over the concluding stages and brushed with MILLIONAIRE MAX (David Sparks)

 

At approximately the 100 metres BOUNDARY ROAD (Phillip Crich) shifted ground outwards over the heels of OUT OF SYNC (Troy Atkin) to obtain a clear run.

 

Jockey Leah Goodrick (GYPSY STRIDER) stated she was caught wide from a wide barrier and as a result had to restrain her mount to the rear of the field.

 

RACE 3 – JAMES BOAG PREMIUM MAIDEN/CLASS 1 PLATE – 1600 METRES

 

As the start was affected LUNARDI (Leah Goodrick) jumped inwards and OPTINORM (Troy Atkin) jumped outwards.  As a result ATWESTCO (Kane Bandy) became buffeted and lost some ground.

 

AGNELLI (Shane Gates) and PINTERRY GROSVE (Jo Geard (a)) bumped on jumping.

 

OPTINORM (Troy Atkin) over-raced in the early stages of the event and making the turn at the 1400 metres carried AT ST GEORGES (Marc Ball (a)) wider on the track. 

ATWESTCO (Kane Bandy) laid out approaching the 1200 metres.

 

Jockey Simon Snell (SANDY FEET) reported at scale his mount felt lame rounding the 700 metres.  A post race veterinary examination revealed mild lameness in the left foreleg.  Trainer Chris Crook was advised she must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to the gelding’s next race start.

 

At approximately the 550 metres HOTSHOE (Shaun Hamer (a)) appeared to clip the heels of PINTERRY GROSVE (Jo Geard (a)).

 

A swab sample was taken from the winner of the race HOTSHOE (Trainer Barry Campbell).

 

PINTERRY GROSVE stripped skin from both hind legs in the running and was treated by suturing and bandaging.  Trainer Terry Roles was advised he must provide a veterinary certificate of soundness prior to the gelding’s next race start.

 

A post-race veterinary examination of ATWESTCO revealed a small laceration to the near fore cannon involving a blood vessel.  There was no lameness.

 

A post-race veterinary examination of OPTINORM (Troy Atkin), which performed poorly and tailed the field revealed no obvious abnormalities.

 

RACE 4 – BOAGS XXX CLASS 1 HANDICA P – 1175 METRES

 

Correct weight was delayed when the rider of the third place getter, apprentice Kasey Boxall (LIGHT RANK), wished to view the official film with a view to protesting.  After viewing the official film apprentice Boxall declined from doing so.

 

CLAUSE TWO (Kane Bandy) jumped out at the start and bumped with CHARTWELL (Shaun Hamer (a)), who in turn bumped with AL SHIRAZ (David Sparks).

 

At approximately the 1000 metres BROADWAY STARLIGHT (Jodi Borrett) shifted ground inwards and bumped with AL SHIRAZ (David Sparks). 

 

At approximately the 500 metres LIGHT RANK (Kasey Boxall (a)) had to be steadied off the heels of STATEVAIN  (Marc Ball (a)).

 

LIGHT RANK (Kasey Boxall (a)) laid in over the concluding stages and as a result momentarily inconvenienced CLAUSE TWO (Kane Bandy) and ESTATE KING  (Shane Gates).

 

A swab sample was taken from the winner of the race MISS LUSCIOUS (Trainer Terry Roles).

 

RACE 5 – J BOAG & SON GOLDEN MILE – 1600 METRES

 

Correct weight was delayed when the rider of the fourth place getter, Jockey Kane Bandy (CHARDERE) wished to view the official film with a view to protesting.  After viewing the official film Jockey Bandy declined from doing so.

 

DREAM QUEST (Brendon McCoull) and CHARDERE (Kane Bandy) were both slow into stride.

 

ZARINA BOY (Shane Gates) laid out approaching the 1200 metres and carried MISLAID (Marc Ball (a)) a little wider.

 

Over the concluding stages CHARDERE (Kane Bandy) shifted wider on the track to obtain a clear run.  At the same time BOMBAY BOY (Kevin Dodge) laid in and as a result CHARDERE was momentarily inconvenienced.

MISS BARYSH (Simon Snell) shifted ground outwards abruptly when making the crossing and as a result lost ground.

 

CHARDERE (Kane Bandy) hung out in the back straight

 

A swab sample was taken from the winner of the race SURGE OF POWER (Trainer Winston Pilgrim).

 

RACE 6 – BOAGS STRONGARM – 1600 METRES

 

LADY RUNYON was a late scratching at 2.33 p.m, on veterinary advice, when the mare was found to be lame in the right fore suspensory ligament.  A veterinary certificate will be required prior to the mare’s next race start.

 

SANNARELLE (Kane Bandy) reared as the start was affected and as a result was slow into stride.

 

JACARANDA PARK (Marc Ball (a)) was slow into stride.

 

Rounding the 1400 metre turn SANNARELLE (Kane Bandy) laid out and momentarily inconvenienced JACARANDA PARK (Marc Ball (a)).

 

Approaching the 1200 metres FLY GEORGIE (Shannon Brazil), which was over-racing, was being steadied by its rider when it threw its head in the air, dropped back and as a result inconvenienced SANNARELLE (Kane Bandy), who in turn also dropped back, resulting in JACARANDA PARK (Marc Ball (a)) clipping its heels resulting in Jockey Ball being dislodged.  Apprentice M Ball was examined by the ambulance officers and found to have an injury to his left wrist.  He was advised he must tender a medical certificate prior to riding again.  A post-race veterinary examination of JACARANDA PARK revealed no obvious abnormalities.  Jockey Brazil reported that her mount slipped at the 1200 and 800 metres. 

 

Stewards questioned Jockey Leah Goodrick in regard to her ride on MATSERATI over the concluding stages.  Jockey Goodrick was of the opinion that JACARANDA PARK, who was riderless, had shifted ground inwards and was going to inconvenience her.  She believed MATSERATI had done its best at the time and as a result she erred on the side of caution by stopping riding several strides before the line.

 

AROMA ROYALE returned to scale with blood in the right nostril.  The gelding was examined by the veterinary surgeon, three times in thirty minutes, and it was confined to the right nostril only.

 

RACE 7   BOAGS DRAUGHT CLASS 6 HANDICAP– 1175 METRES

 

Shortly after the start BROWNEYED BOY (Shaun Hamer (a)) shifted ground inwards.  As a result HANNAHANNAH (Brendon McCoull) had to momentarily ease.  Apprentice Hamer was reminded of his obligations when allowing his mount to shift ground.

 

HANNAHANNAH (Brendon McCoull) over-raced in the back straight.

ALBRONQUEST (Kane Bandy) laid in in the home straight and bumped with TOTNESS (Shannon Brazil).

A post race veterinary examination of FOUND EAST revealed a respitory noise.  No stand down period was issued.

A post race veterinary examination of SCENTIAN BELLE revealed no obvious abnormalities.
