It's Rysek on Hobart Cup Trial

A decision on whether last-start Sandown winner It’s Rysek takes his place in the AAMI Hobart Cup field will be known after the gelding tackles an open handicap over 2500m at Flemington tomorrow.

It’s Rysek was an impressive winner over 2465m at Sandown on January 15 and his trainer Richard Freyer said the gelding only needs to finish in the first four on Saturday to be afforded a trip across Bass Strait for the AAMI Hobart Cup on February 10.

"It’s Rysek has done well since his last win and I would only need him to run an honest race on Saturday to confirm him as a definite AAMI Hobart Cup starter," Freyer said.

"I have never had a runner in the AAMI Hobart Cup so I am looking forward to this horse being my first starter in the race," he said.
