RACE 1 – KING ISLAND PHARMACY MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1200 METRES

TARRENLEA (D Sparks) delayed the start due to this mare’s reluctance to load into the barriers.

LUCIBEAR (C Dean) was slow out of the barriers and raced ungenerously in the early stages of the event.

RACE 3 – KING ISLAND AIRLINES CLASS D HANDICAP – 1000 METRES

SWIFTS CREEK (A Jones) was slow to muster early speed.

COMIC CONNECTION (P Fung (a)) was disappointed for a run over the concluding stages and clipped the heels of APPENDALE (S Brazil) shortly after finish line. Upon inquiry it was established that APPENDALE (S Brazil) shifted in as COMIC CONNECTION rolled out when being eased and resulting in COMIC CONNECTION clipping heels. Both riders were reminded that their obligations regarding shifting ground.

RACE 5 – KING ISLAND IGA EVERYDAY MAIDEN HANDICAP – 1600 METRES

Shortly after the start LITTLE HAGAR (C Dean) shifted in and made contact with MR. MANUKA (S Brazil). LITTLE HAGAR continued to shift in resulting in MR. MANUKA having to be eased by its rider. At a subsequent inquiry it was established that MR. MANUKA had rolled out marginally as LITTLE HAGAR was crossing toward the rail. Jockey P Sarlo was given the benefit of the doubt as to whether he was fully responsible for this incident and advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in future.

The rider of MR. MANUKA Shannon Brazil reported that she had lost her whip approaching the 200m.

RACE 6 – BRUCE CLARKE CLASS D HANDICAP – 1600 METRES

The winner ISLAND QUEST was sent to be swabbed.

RECHARGED (L Taylor) bled for the first time during the race and acting under the provisions of AR 53 A will be banned from racing for 3 months.

RACE 7 – DEVONPORT SADDLEWORLD CLASS D HANDICAP – 1400 METRES

The distance of this race was shown as 1200m in the race book when in fact it was 1400m. A public announcement was made to this effect.

PINCHS CHOICE (N Cook) jumped outwards at the start severely hampering runners to the outside. At a subsequent inquiry N. Cook was advised she must ensure she maintains control of her mount as the gates open. It was also noted that N. Cook had difficulty in riding her mount out in the home straight. She was further advised that if she is to ride in races she must ensure that she can be compete at a level of fitness that will allow her to ride her mounts out fully to the finish line.

The rider of SOUTH ROAD, Colin Dean lost his whip near the 200 mm.

GENERAL

The following rider changes were approved due to J.Maddox failing to fulfil his engagements at today’s meeting. Race 1 Tarrenlea - D.Sparks Race 5 Flamin’ Embers - D.Sparks

The ownership of Flamin’ Embers and Power of Petite was shown incorrectly in the race book a public announcement stating the amendments was made.
