RACE 1 –– FOOT & PLAYSTED MAIDEN / CLASS 1 PLATE – ABOUT 2100 METRES

 

As the start was affected MINI CLAUSE (K Bandy) jumped out, as a result ALL GEARD UP (S Gates) was inconvenienced and as a result ALL GEARD UP (S Gates) was slow into stride.

 

MR BEE (C Kingston) over raced in the early stages of the event.

 

BIG WES (L Goodrick) layed in rounding the home turn.

 

MOONLIGHT BELLE (NZ) (S Hamer (a)) lay out under pressure over the concluding stages.

 

Apprentice S Hamer was reprimanded under AR 137(a) for careless riding, in that at approximately the 900 metres MOONLIGHT BELLE (NZ) shifted wider on the track and in doing so momentarily inconvenienced ALL GEARD UP (S Gates).

 

DELVING (D Robinson (a)) and MINI CLAUSE (K Bandy) tired upon entering the home straight, post race Veterinary examinations of DELVING (Trainer G J McCulloch) revealed no obvious abnormalities, and MINI CLAUSE (Trainer W N McShane) revealed no obvious abnormalities.

 

RACE 2 – TROA NORTHERN DIVISION  MAIDEN PLATE  – 1200 METRES

 

The declaration of correct weight was delayed when Jockey K Bandy (GRASJAR) wished to view the official patrol film.

 

WIITIKO (C Kingston) failed to muster early speed.

 

TRENT CHRISTOPHER (K Boxall (a)) rolled out approaching the 800 metres and bumped with TRISTALE (L Goodrick).

 

PRIMA CAVALLO (B McCoull) was held up for a run upon entering and in the home straight.

 

AXIOM (S Hamer (a)) layed in the home turn as a result GRASJAR (K Bandy) was momentarily inconvenienced.

Apprentice S Hamer (AXIOM) reported at scale that he dropped his off side rein rounding the home turn.

RACE 3 – ROUTLEY’S OF THE MALL SUPERVOBIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE (1) – 1200 METRES 

The start of this race was delayed for 3 minutes due to several horses being placed in the wrong barriers.

 

CHERISH (S Snell) jumped awkwardly and dipped.

 

Shortly after the start INCHCAPE (J Borrett) was hampered when SERIOUS MONARCH (T Atkin) shifted ground inwards.

 

Jockey T Atkin (SERIOUS MONARCH) was reprimanded under AR 137 (a) careless riding in that approaching the 900 metre turn he allowed his mount to shift ground inwards resulting in GENTLE BEN (K Boxall (a)) being carried in on to GALAHAD’S GOLD (S Brazil) having to be steadied and CONCURRENT (C Kingston) who was following, also being hampered.

 

At the 750 metres GENTLE BEN (K Boxall (a)) laid in resulting in MADE FOR MIRACLE (B McCoull) being inconvenienced who in turn shifted out onto CHERISH (S Snell) who bumped with CONCURRENT (C Kingston) to its outside.

 

Rounding the home turn GENTLE BEN (K Boxall (a)) shifted wider on the track to obtain a clear run as a result PETITE OISEAU (L Goodrick) had to be momentarily steadied by its rider, shifted wider and in turn carried GALAHAD’S GOLD (S Brazil) wider, CONCURRENT (C Kingston) who was racing to its outside was inconvenienced out onto the heels of SHOWER OF RUBIES  (K Bandy).  Apprentice Boxall was shown the official race patrol film and reminded of her obligations when shifting ground outwards in the future.

 

RACE 4 – EXAMINER NEWSPAPER SUPERVOBIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE (2)  – 1200 METRES

 

The start of this race was delayed for 2 minutes due to KAY TEE (J Geard (a)) and MAGIC LAUGHTER (K Boxall (a)) proving difficult to load into the barrier stalls.

 

ON CURFEW (T Atkin) jumped awkwardly and over raced in the early and middle stages of the event.

 

MAGYEJO (J Borrett) jumped out at the start onto RUMKER (S Gates) who in turn bumped with MAGIC LAUGHTER (K Boxall (a)) resulting in those two being slow away.

 

HARVES (S Hamer (a)) raced greenly in the middle stages of the event.

 

KAY TEE (J Geard (a)) made the crossing at the 800 metres awkwardly and over raced for some distance thereafter.

 

MAGYEJO (J Borrett) laid in from the 600 metres, and approaching the finish line ducked in and had to be steadied off the heels of ON CURFEW (T Atkin).

 

ON CURFEW (T Atkin) and MAGYEJO (J Borrett) brushed on several occasions in the home straight.

 

RACE 5 – F & W STEWART CLASS 1 HANDICAP – 1200 METRES

 

As the start was affected OUR BONNIE LAD (S Brazil) jumped in onto PLUSH PRINCE (B McCoull), who in turn shifted in inconveniencing TWICE THE VALUE (L Goodrick).

 

TWICE THE VALUE (L Goodrick) and BOW SHE GOES (K Dodge) were both slow into stride.

 

BELLEEK (J Geard (a)) hung in rounding the 900 metre turn.

 

TWICE THE VALUE (L Goodrick) hung out rounding the home turn and raced wide thereafter.  Jockey Goodrick stated after being inconvenienced after the start she placed pressure on the horse thereafter to hold its position and stay in contact with the field and then when rounding the home turn, laid out.

 

Rounding the home turn BIOLOGICAL KING (S Snell) shifted ground in marginally, as a result PENTIME (C Kingston) had to be steadied by its rider.

 

PLUSH PRINCE (B McCoull) layed in in the home straight.

 

A pre-race Veterinary examination of CZAR RULE (Trainer G White) revealed a proppy action in front en route to the barrier, which appeared to improve.  CZAR RULE was allowed to take its place in the field.

 

A swab sample was taken from the winner of the race MAGIC LIFE (Trainer R Hall).

 

RACE 6 – SUE’S OF INVERMAY CLASS 1 HANDICAP– 1600 METRES

 

Trainer M Ganderton advised NEAT LINES to be a late scratching at 12.18pm due to this gelding being unable to be loaded into the float.

 

Jockey S Snell (DI’S ANGEL) accidentally dropped his whip at approximately the 200 metres.

 

QUEST FOR GOLD (R Bradley) was a little slow into stride.

 

BRAEQUEST (K Bandy) accidentally struck a native hen at approximately the 400 metres.

 

LIBERAL LOVER (L Goodrick) was held up for a run rounding the home turn.

 

RACE 7 – SKYY BLUE LADIES DAY HANDICAP – 1200 METRES

 

LONELY SHORE (K Bandy) was fractious in the barriers .

 

SEDATION (C Kingston) threw its head in the air at approximately the 850 metres, as a result ZEVA ROYALE (J Borrett) had to be steadied by its rider.

 

OCEANO (S Brazil) was held up for a run rounding the home turn and shifted out brushing with LONELY SHORE (K Bandy).

 

JAY KAY BEE (B McCoull) shifted ground under pressure at the 150 metres.

 

ZEVA ROYALE (J Borrett) was held up before switching wider to obtain a clear run at the 100 metres.

 

LADY QUEST (K Dodge) was held up behind LITTLE PORKIES (NZ) (S Gates) over the concluding stages, as a  result had to be checked by its rider and lost considerable ground.

 

RACE 8 – KEVIN SHARKIE CLASS 2 HANDICAP – 1400 METRES

 

Pre race urine samples were taken from the following runners DESIGN ACADEMY (Trainer C Goggin), BLADE STAR (Trainer W J Pilgrim) and IRISH JOKER (Trainer D S Carr).

 

ALL POINTS WEST (L Goodrick) dislodged its rider on the way to the barriers.  Jockey Goodrick was examined by the Ambulance Officers and passed fit to ride in the event.  ALL POINTS WEST was inspected by the Veterinary surgeon and passed fit to take its place in the field.

 

Upon jumping FOR US ALL (K Boxall (a)) bumped with BORN A QUEEN (T Atkin).

 

INFAMOUS ANGEL (S Snell) over raced in the early stages of the event.

 

At approximately the 150 metres MONEY MAGNET (D Sparks) fell, resulting in Jockey Sparks being dislodged.  Jockey Sparks was taken to hospital for observation.   MONEY MAGNET was inspected by the Veterinary Surgeon, which revealed this gelding to have sustained no injuries.  Stewards will adjourn an inquiry to a date to be fixed.

 

Jockey Kingston (IRISH JOKER) stated at scale that his mount over raced and was caught wide throughout.

 

A swab sample was taken from the winner of the race ALL POINTS WEST (Trainer M Trinder).

  

RACE 9 – CASCADE BREWERY CLASS 4 HANDICAP– ABOUT 2100 METRES

 

The start of this race was delayed for 3 minutes due to problems at Taree.

 

DANDERA (J Borrett) reared at the start, at the same time LORRELEE (C Kingston) twisted sideways.

 

OUR DASHING DANE (S Gates) blundered at the start.

 

Shortly after the start DANDERA (J Borrett) bumped with LORRELEE (C Kingston) resulting in LORRELEE losing some ground.  Jockey Kingston stated he was unable to ride LORRELEE in its normal forward position due to the horse missing the start, and as a result settled back on the rail.  Stewards noted Jockey Kingston’s explanation.

 

BEACH POINT (J Geard (a)) had to be steadied by its rider when TERCENTENARY (T Atkin) crossed the field.  Jockey Atkin was reminded of his obligations when allowing his mount to shift ground in future.

 

HEARTLESS (S Snell) and OUR DASHING DANE (S Gates) brushed at the home turn when OUR DASHING DANE had shifted wider on the track to obtain a clear run.

 

Rounding the home turn CRYSTAL QUI (S Hamer (a)) layed in and brushed the running rail.

 

Jockey McCoull (KELLEN) was reprimanded under AR 137(a) careless riding, in that racing to the winning post on the first occasion he allowed his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear of STARRED (K Boxall (a), as a result STARRED and CALANTE LAD (K Bandy) were inconvenienced.

 

Jockey McCoull reported KELLEN had raced wide and was unable to run out the 2100 metres.  A post race Veterinary examination of KELLEN revealed this gelding to have an elevated heart rate otherwise, no other abnormalities.

 

Trainer C Crook advised Stewards that MAN IN BLACK had schooled over the hurdles during the week.  A public announcement was made to this effect.
