Sunday's Tips for Flemington

It's Aurie's Star Handicap Day at Flemington today with eight competitive races on the card. The following tips have been assessed for the good rated track.

Race 1

Chance for the Aussie boys to peg back some points after an Irish clean sweep in Adelaide today. Bold Impulse should be too strong for Brett Scott while the main danger could be Martin Mills' mount Woody Woodpecker.

The in form Kattavia is set to prove the major stumbling block here. Gets in well with the claim for in form apprentice. Mister Expert has been racing consistently without winning and Purple Road impressed last start.

Best Intentions is Mick Price's runner in a race named after his father Bill. He is a good hope in an open race. The grey Wannaway won't wanna be going before acceptances this time. Splash of Love is always thereabouts, while Peria has to improve.

Race 5

Prince Rubiton should win on his excellent effort in the Monash behind Rubitano. Top sprinter who should beat these fresh performers. Fields of Omagh could be sprinting hard home at the finish while Flavour is a great first upper. Surely is couldn't be another Rubiton trifecta?

Race 6

Living End is racing in great heart and should enjoy the spacious Flemington track. He's beautifully bred and a plum pick up for Noel Callow. Stephen Baster has jumped off that horse to partner last start runner-up Rock of the Ages. Chances to Lord Darth Vader, Piermont and Lynx.

Race 7

Jone's Prophet could be the smokey here. Cherak was unlucky last start and will appreciate the spacious track. Southern Crown is well drawn and has Payne up, while Our Arch Rivalis deserving of a win here.

Race 8

Dashiki's Sydney form is first class and the stable had a treble today. Western state performer Fine and Dapper is very consistent, while Geronimo Run has class on his side. Chances to Auckland Blues, Likauma and in form Work and Tumble.
