Theatre to Take Centre Stage at Caulfield

r4puretheatre2.jpg (11903 bytes)Te Awamutu-trained Pure Theatre has travelled to Melbourne and will start on Sunday in the Group One $A352,000 Dubai Racing Club Cup (1400m) at Caulfield.

Pure Theatre's trainer Robert Priscott said the likelihood of bad weather at Hastings last Saturday had led to his withdrawal from the Glenmorgan Stakes.

"We've decided to head to Australia sooner rather than later," Priscott said.

"The Epsom Handicap in Sydney on October 5 is his next likely target after this race," said Priscott of the Australian-bred son of Nureyev.

Pure Theatre raced well in Melbourne last spring, winning the Gr III Caulfield Guineas Prelude and finishing third in the Gr I Caulfield Guineas.

No rider has yet been confirmed for Pure Theatre for Sunday's feature.
