Race 1 - KING VALLEY WINE REGION MDN PL - 2010 metres:

In the early to middle stages of the race DETERMINATOR and GOLD ECLIPSE over-raced. Approaching 1500m GOLD ECLIPSE had to be eased of the heels of BLEMICK.

Approaching 200m LADY MERYL was disappointed for a run between LOVE MODE and SECRET CALL when both horses shifted ground. Shortly after this LADY MERYL was held up for a run and then had to be eased off the heels of LOVE MODE.

E, Marchant rider of LOVE MODE, 4th place getter, was severely reprimanded for failing to ride hismount

out to the end of the race. Stewards took into account that E. Marchant's actions did not effect the judges placings.

V. Hall, rider of DETERMINATOR when questioned regarding the poor performance of the gelding stated to the Stewards that the gelding over-raced in the early and middle stages of the race and failed to respond to his riding the straight. A Veterinary examination of DETERMINATOR revealed no abnormalities. 

Race 2 - MILAWA GOURMET REGION MDN PL - 1400 metres:

Acting on a report from the Starter that RAAMADARA had proved difficult to load into her stall, Stewards notified D. Berriman, Trainer of the mare that an official warning would placed against RAAMADARA and should the mare behave in a similar manner in the future, it may lead to some action being taken. D. Berriman was further notified that before RAAMADARA would be permitted to start again he must be in receipt of a barrier test.

SPIN I'M IN jumped away awkwardly. JACKIE EX was slow to begin.

Approaching 1200m SORCERRETE when being eased off the heels of LONGMORE shifted out and hampered DUCASSE.

Approaching 500m JACKIE EX and RAAMADARA brushed.

After passing 200m L. Nolen, rider of BOW TO ME dropped his whip.

At the entrance to the straight LEICA PEONY which was weakening had to be eased when tightened for room between FLASH LACE and LONGMORE when both horses shifted ground.

On pulling up SPIN I'M IN (1st place getter) shied, dislodged its rider L. Bulger and broke through the inside running rail. As L. Bulger was unable to weigh in and as Stewards were satisfied that SPIN I'M IN had carried its allotted weight, Stewards declared Correct Weight.

Race 3 - WANGARATTA TEXTILES FESTIVAL F&M CLASS 3 H'CAP - 1600M:

After passing 200m GYPSY MELODY was disappointed for a run between CENTUISM and CHATOYER. GYPSY MELODY then had to change course to obtain a clear run.

Race 4 - HAL HOYSTED - 90 S.V. 3YO MDN PLATE - 1180M:

LEICA CHIEF was slow to begin and then shortly after the start VOITURE shifted in abruptly, when racing greenly, and hampered LEICA CHIEF. Approaching the 1000m VOITURE had to be eased when tightened for room between YELTSEN which shifted out slightly, and LOST VALLEY which shifted in and away from WILLOWFIELD. VOITURE then raced greenly for the remainder of the race.

On jumping away UMATRICK was tightened for room between FORD'S CREEK and GEMAZZI, when both of those horses shifted ground.

Rounding the home corner and in the early part of the straight LOST VALLEY had difficulty in obtaining a clear run.

After passing the 100m LEICA CHIEF was held up for a clear run and approaching the winning post had to be eased after obtaining a narrow run between UMATRICK and FORD'S CREEK when both of those horses shifted ground slightly.

During the running of the race LADY PENRHYN lost its' near hind plate.

W. Treloar, who was to be overweight on LOST VALLEY was notified that in future he must not accept rides outside his weight bracket otherwise he may be penalised in future.

Race 5 - GLENROWAN NED KELLY SIEGE CLASS 5 HANDICAP - 1000M

Approaching 200m PERADA had to be eased when attempting to take a narrow run between SNAKEY BIT which shifted in and UNCLE ANDRE which shifted out slightly. PERADA and UNCLE ANDRE then had difficulty in obtaining a clear run until nearing the winning post.

Race 6 - MURRAY TO MOUNTAINS RAIL TRAIL CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1000M

SPURIOUS was very slow to begin. B. Cox, Trainer of SPURIOUS which was having its first race start for him today was notified that an official warning would be placed against the gelding and should SPURIOUS perform in a similar manner in the future it may lead to some action being taken.

Approaching 300m MCINNESS LANE (M. Alesci) shifted in abruptly and bumped KELKALA who then was tightened for room between PRIMOGENITURE which shifted out to obtain a run and MCINNESS LANE which shifted in further after being brushed in the hindquarters by KELKALA. Shortly after this MCINNESS LANE again shifted in abruptly and hampered KELKALA. M. Alesci was reprimanded and notified that he must make every effort to keep his mounts straight when in similar circumstances in the future.

J. Anstice rider of MACKEELIE was severely reprimanded for weighing in 1kg over his declared weight.

Race 7 - WANGARATTA JAZZ FESTIVAL CLASS 2 HANDICAP -1400M:

W. Treloar rider of GO CHED, 4th place getter was notified that he must ride all his mounts out hands and heels to the end of the race.

Approaching 1200m SHY BARBIE shifted out a took CELTIC BLUE out onto CHRYSAETOS resulting in all those horses being hampered.

In middle stages of the race KING'S GOD had a tendency to over-race.

Race 8 - SPORTS AND AQUATIC CENTRE CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1600M:

 P. Robl, who was to be overweight on BOOKANOOKLE was notified that he must not accept rides outside his weight bracket, otherwise he may be penalised in the future. Stewards took into account P. Robl's excellent record in this area.

Shortly after the start CEEFA was tightened for room between IDOL OF DEMUS and SHOW WEST which shifted in slightly.

Approaching 1400m Ceefa had to be eased when tightened for room between SHOW WEST which shifted out slightly and TAKE A HINT which shifted in.

As there was no other rider available Stewards permitted J. Anstice to ride LORD GREY SHIELD 1kg over its' allotted weight.

As there was no other rider available Stewards permitted L. Bulger to ride OUR BANJO.
