Race 1 - Becks Oktoberfest Maiden Plate (1) 1600 metres:

Near the 1400m Betraazim had to be checked to avoid the heels of Bold Raj. Shortly after this Bundaloch, when over-racing, shifted out to avoid the heels of Mr Wizard, and as a result hampered Bold Raj.

Race 2 - $1m Spring Cups Festival Maiden Plate (2) 1600 metres:

When the gates opened Choppity Boo was slow to begin. Near the 1400m Money Pit had to be checked to avoid the heels of Boston Public (M Evans), which shifted in. M Evans was notified to exercise far greater care when shifting ground in future. Near the 800m Primaries had to be eased to avoid the heels of Money Pit, which shifted in slightly. Approaching and rounding the home turn, Primaries was held up when unable to obtain a clear run.

Race 3 - Grain Corp-Graingrowers Maiden Plate 1200 metres:

When the gates opened Murtoa Magic was slow to begin and then shifted out abruptly, as a result Murtoa Magic lost considerable ground. Shortly after this Railroader threw its head in the air on a number of occasion. L Meech, rider Still Crazy, explained to the stewards that the filly hung out for the duration of the race. L Meech further explained that Still Crazy felt normal in her action on return to scale. Mr T O' Sullivan, trainer of Still Crazy, was notified that an official warning would be placed against Still Crazy, and if the mare performed in a similar manner in future, further action may be taken. At the entrance to the straight Railroader had to be eased to avoid the heels of Saradash, which when hanging out, shifted out slightly. D Missen, rider of Soviet Rebel (fourth place-getter), explained to the stewards that he was unable to ride his mount out in his normal manner over the concluding stages, as he had to stop riding to avoid the heels of Curtseys, which shifted in slightly. Stewards reprimanded D Yendall, rider of Miladdonian Boy, for failing to ride his horse out to the end of the race.

Race 4 - Solomit Strawboard Class 4 Handicap 1100 metres:

When the gates opened Flick's Image and Proven Ties came together, and Summer King was slow to begin.

Race 5 - Boronia Peak Villas Super Vobis Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate 1100 metres:

After being placed in its barrier Zero Links broke through the front of the barriers and cantered for a short distance. Zero Links was returned to the barrier, examined by the club's veterinary surgeon, and passed fit to run. When the gates opened Dieu Agree was slow to begin. Near the 1000m Zero Links was inconvenienced when tightened for room by Crystal Edge, which shifted in. Shortly after this Trojan Prince brushed the running rail and became unbalanced, and as a result lost ground. Near the 100m So Like Silk was inconvenienced by Crystal Edge, which shifted out. Approaching the winning post Toy Machine was hampered when tightened for room by Crystal Edge, which shifted in.

Race 6 - K & J Baker Cartage Murtoa Cup 2050 metres:

On arrival at the barrier Cosipura was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon, who deemed the gelding unfit to take its place in the field. Acting on this advice, stewards ordered the withdrawal of Cosipura at 3:12 pm. Mr C Field, trainer of Cosipura, was notified that prior to the gelding racing again he must be in receipt of a veterinary certificate of fitness. Subsequent to the race, stewards ordered the following in relation to betting all monies wagered for a win, place and concession on Cosipura be refunded, and all successful bets prior to the time of withdrawal of Cosipura at 3.12 pm are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket: win bets three cents, place bets three cents, winning concession bets three cents, and double bets three cents. All monies bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of the ticket.

Rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight, Meet The Stars was held up when unable to obtain a clear run. After passing the 200m Hidden Account had to be eased when tightened for room between Ti Tree Flyer which shifted out, and Our Le Bleu which shifted in slightly. Approaching the winning post Meet The Stars had to shift out across the heels of Tooborack to obtain a clear run.

Race 7 - www.colicsolutions.com.au Class 1 Handicap 1600 metres:

G Hoobin, rider of Panning For Gold, explained to the stewards that when his barrier gate opened Panning For Gold stood flat-footed and was reluctant to jump, and as a result lost considerable ground. Mr J Searle, trainer of Panning For Gold, was notified that an official warning would be placed against the gelding for its behaviour today, and should it perform in a similar manner in the future, further action may be taken. Near the 200m Million Storms shifted out to obtain a run on the outside of Export Image, resulting in Baconer's Sister shifting out away from that gelding and hampering Panning For Gold. Near the 1100m Cheval Marie, which was over-racing, had to be eased off the heels of Capitulation.

Race 8 - Bundaberg Rum Golden Grain Series Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres:

Prior to correct weight M Evans, rider of Patience Darling (fourth place-getter), requested to view the stewards patrol videos of the race, with the view to lodging an objection. After viewing the videos, M Evans did not proceed with this request and correct weight was declared. After being placed in its barrier stall Beauquest reared and dislodged its rider, D Yendall. Beauquest was removed from the barrier and examined by the clubs veterinary surgeon and passed fit to run. D Yendall was examined by the clubs medical officer and passed fit to ride. As a result of this incident the start of the race was delayed. Near the 900m Dolphinora had to be checked and Patience Darling hampered, when tightened for room by Full Boar (L Meech), which shifted in when not clear. L Meech was severely reprimanded and notified to exercise far greater care when shifting ground in the future. Approaching the home turn Methodical Boy had to be eased to avoid the heels of Beauquest, which when weakening, shifted out slightly. D Yendall, rider of Beauquest, who performed poorly, explained to stewards that he could not offer an explanation for the gelding's poor performance. A subsequent veterinary examination of Beauquest failed to reveal any abnormality. Rounding the home turn Red Tamari had a tendency to hang out.

Race 9 - Horsham Hire Class 3 Handicap 2050 metres:

After passing the winning post the first time It's Over Art, when over-racing, had to be checked to avoid the heels of Very Quiet. It's Over Art then continued to over-race, and near the 1400m had to be eased across the heels of Very Quiet.
