Northerly New Topweight for Caulfield Cup

West Australian star Northerly is the new topweight for the Carlton
Draught Caulfield Cup (2400m) following today's close of Second Declarations for the
$2,515,000 Group 1 feature to be run on October 19.Original topweight Vinnie Roe was missing from today's entries but his stablemate Media Puzzle is one of four internationals remaining in the race. The others are Godolphin pair Hatha Anna and Beekeeper and the David Hayes-trained Helene Vitality.
Seventy-nine horses remain in the running for a place in the race, sixteen more than at the same time last year.
Third Declarations for the race close at 12 noon on Tuesday, October 8.
