Gary Aldridge almost made it a brothers running double when Kings God (Kings High-Gods Run) burst through the pack with Colin Dean on board only to be tipped out in a photo by Smytzer’s Smytzer (Senor Pete-Blushing Belle) ridden by Cathy Payne. Only a half a length away in 3^rd place was the Cliff Brown trained Chrysaetos (Eagle Eyed-Hospitable). The winning trainer Brian McKnight made the trip from Maldon worthwhile with his well bred gelding.
