 RACE 1- QANTAS 3YO FLYING - 1000 METRES:

Acting on a confirmed phone call from Ms C Faithfull that Bohemian Rhapsody would in her view be unsuited to the track conditions tonight and as Stewards had downgraded the track from Dead to Slow, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Bohemian Rhapsody at 5.40pm.

On jumping away Wyndam Glory was bumped by Chatline which jumped away awkwardly and shifted out. Shortly after this incident Gotrice and Pick Pocketer bumped. For some distance approaching the 600 metres Wyndam Glory which was hanging in raced erratically.

Near the 600 metres Gotrice which was bumped by Cooke Street which shifted out slightly had to be checked, when tightened for room between that gelding and Chatline. Cooke Street which was laying in had some difficulty in obtaining a narrow run between Gold Express and El Capitan.

RACE 2 – MV WEDDING EXPO SUNDAY 6 OCTOBER HANDICAP - 3000 METRES:

Near the 800 metres on the first occasion Legal Express was tightened momentarily by Hawk Eye (NZ) which was taken in by Flying Chance which shifted in slightly.

Near the 800 metres Kailey Lamour (NZ) had to be checked off the heels of Miss Diaz.

Big Indi broke down in front in the straight on the first occasion.

RACE 3 – STRATHAYR EASILAWN HANDICAP - 1600 METRES:

On jumping away San Antone (NZ) and Aka Bilk (NZ) came together due to both horses shifting ground.

In the early part part of the straight, British Buska (NZ) shifted out towards Aka Bilk (NZ), shortly afterwards Aka Bilk (NZ) shifted in under pressure and brushed British Buska (NZ).

Rounding the home turn Wahema brushed the running rail and had to be checked when tightened for room by Trust in Dreams (NZ) which shifted in abruptly away from San Antone (NZ) which was shifting in at that stage.

RACE 4 – WORLD MASTERS GAMES HANDICAP - 1200 METRES:

Acting on a confirmed phone call from trainer Mr D L Freedman that Grand Falls would be unsuited by the track conditions tonight and as Stewards had downgraded the track from Dead to Slow, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Grand Falls at 4.48pm.

Rounding the home turn Littlewood Lane was bumped by Danjoe's Express that shifted out slightly, Littlewood Lane became unbalanced in the incident.

RACE 5 – CARLTON DRAUGHT TROPHY - 1600 METRES:

Approaching the 1400 metres Chickie had to be eased to avoid the heels of Latte which was taken in by Bella Moxie which shifted in.

RACE 6 – BILL STUTT STAKES - 1600 METRES:

Half Hennessy jumped away awkwardly.

Acting on a confirmed phone call from trainer Mr T J Hughes who stated that in his view Delago Brom would be unsuited by the track conditions tonight and as Stewards had downgraded the track from Dead to Slow, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Delago Brom at 5.10pm.

B Prebble rider of Cool Trent, 5th placegetter lodged an objection against Rohatyn (NZ), 4th placegetter, on the grounds of alleged interference between the 600 and 400 metres, after hearing evidence from the parties concerned, and viewing the Stewards video and TV shot of the race Stewards upheld the objection. Subsequently it was established that approaching the 400 metres, Cool Trent had to be checked severely off the heels of Rohaytn (NZ), which shifted in abruptly under pressure. The incident was found to be accidental. The objection was upheld and the amended placings changed to Cool Trent 4th place and Rohaytn (NZ) 5th place.

RACE 7 – L’IMMAGINE VERSACE CLASSIC HANDICAP - 1600 METRES:

Approaching the first turn Work of Heart had to bee eased to avoid the heels of Luminous Liaison which shifted in slightly.

Rounding the home turn La Quinta Gold and Work of Heart were both held up.

La Quinta Gold proved difficult to load into the starting stalls and as a result the start of the race was delayed. As La Quinta Gold had offended on a number of occasions previously Stewards suspended the filly from racing until La Quinta Gold performs to the satisfaction of Stewards in an organised trial at which time La Quinta Gold must obtain a barrier test certificate.

SUMMARY

FINES Race 1 - Tom Hughes trainer of Gold Express was fined the sum of $30 for using wrong colours on the horse.
HORSE ACTIONS:  Race 7 - La Quinta Gold suspended until barrier trials in an organised trial.
