Race 2 - Milawa Gourmet Region Maiden Plate

Mary-Lou Corboy struck a blow for the locals when Spin I’m In (Soviet Lad-Bay Naza) paying $67 got up at his fourth race start with Laura Bulger in the saddle. The excitement of his swooping finish did not end there, while pulling up he decided to try his hoof at hurdling and scaled the inside rail the result was not pretty. The five horses following close behind all went over the top leaving their riders kissing dirt. Laura Bulger had bruising while Bernadette Payne who parted company with early leader Leica Peony ended up in hospital with a broken collarbone, all other riders just had dented pride and no horses were injured. We send our best regards to Bernadette for a speedy recovery.

Mary-Lou Corboy, Adrian Corboy and Mary O’Connor make it a family affair as owners and breeder of Spin I’m In.
Adrian is a great help to Mary-Lou by assisting her with the horses, he has a great name in the area as a horse educator and conditioner.
