r3tonymcevoy.jpg (9733 bytes)Tony McEvoy was the leading trainer on Victorian racetracks during August but it was a close call.

McEvoy grabbed the top spot on a countback from Darren Weir who also trained nine winners. It was a huge turnaround for McEvoy who managed just one winner in Victoria during July.

Mark Young was a standout performer registering the top strike/rate of 42.9% with six winners from his fourteen runners.

Bill Mitchell has quickly established himself in Victoria and grabbed a Top 10 spot with six winners for the month.
