Close Shave for Top Jocks

0831blueyday.jpg (15785 bytes)Four leading Melbourne jockeys had a close shave before the first race at Caulfield today.

But it was never a case of being life threatening, as Damien Oliver, Brett Prebble, Kerrin McEvoy and Peter Mertens had their heads shaved in aid of charity.

They joined fellow jockeys Darren Gauci, Stephen Baster, Greg Childs and John Hawkes' son and foreman Wayne, who recently went under the chop at Moonee Valley.

More than $30,000 was raised for the Bluey Day promotion to raise funds for the Royal Children's Hospital in recognition of its work with kids suffering from cancer.
