Race 1 – Deniliquin RSL SV 3YO Class 2 Handicap – 1100 metres:
On arrival at the course Fabian Alesci was examined by the Club's Doctor and passed fit to ride. Cool Azz was slow to begin. Revolve Around Him jumped away awkwardly. Fabian Alesci rider of Bow She Goes which had performed below expectations stated to the Stewards that the filly traveled well in the early and middle stages of the race but failed to respond to his riding in the straight. A veterinary examination of Bow She Goes revealed no abnormality.
Race 2 - Royal Children's Hospital SV 3YO Maiden Plate - 1400m
During the race Misscando raced greenly. Approaching the 200m Leicamondee was hampered due to Gypsy Fingers shifting in under pressure. Approaching the winning post Leicamondee was held up for a run due to Gypsy Fingers (E. Cassar) continuing to shift in and Demon Pete shifting out slightly. Eddie Cassar was advised that he must stop riding and straighten his mounts when in similar circumstances in future.
Race 3 - Prato Fashions Maiden Plate (1) - 1200m
After being placed in its barrier Broad Style became restless, reared and became cast. Broad Style was taken from the barriers, examined by the Club's Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to run. Broad Style was slow to begin. Passing the 900m Line Of Vision when pulling hard shifted out and hampered Twilight Reign.
Race 4 - Prato Fashions Maiden Plate (2) - 1200m
Stewards adjourned an enquiry into the reason for E. Marchant failing to fulfil his engagement. When the gates opened Carry On Counting stood flat footed and lost considerable ground. Rustic Court raced greenly in the early and middle stages. Rounding the home corner Better Star hung out.
Race 5 - Great Western Maiden Plate - 2100m
When Te Moana (NZ) weakened near the 600m Lack O' Fun was taken back through the field. Near the 600m Just Clipper hung out. Approaching the 400m Lets Romance had to be steadied when tightened for room by Cyclone Bay which shifted in slightly.
Race 6 - Geoff O'Brien Handicap - 1400m
Approaching the 500m Royal Treen had to be eased when tightened for room between Lexitaw & Shutters which was taken out by Make A Scene which shifted out to obtain a run. At the entrance to the straight O'Temptation had to be eased off the heels of Al Borak (NZ).
Race 7 - Southern Cross Ten Class 2 Handicap - 1400m
In the early and middle stages of the race Bangerang Clyde overraced and approaching the 800m accidentally clipped the heels of Danse D'Or (NZ).
Race 8 - Natio Australia Class 1 Handicap - 1600m
Link Robertson who was to be overweight on Amia was notified that he must not accept rides outside his weight bracket otherwise he might be penalized. Zaravitch was slow to begin and then was tightened for room between Forelli and Belgrade when both of those horses shifted ground. Approaching the 400m Yumali had to be eased when tightened for room between Forelli and Belgrade when both horses shifted ground slightly.
Race 9 - Kirkby's Bakery Class 1 Handicap - 1200m
On jumping away Bangerang Bonnie shifted out which resulted in Secret Voodoo being taken out onto General Carson, Just Brawny and Front The Judge which resulted in those horses being hampered. Approaching the 700m Secret Voodoo when overracing had to be checked to avoid the heels of General Carson.

Today Stewards concluded the enquiry into Nikita Beriman's unnecessary use of the whip when she rode Cheval Marie in the Class 1 Handicap 1600m run at Echuca on September 1, 2002. Nikita Beriman was fined $200.00 and advised that a repetition would lead to far more severe action being taken in future.
