Bel Esprit Pulls up Fine - Prepares for 1400m

Despite a ride which had Macedon Lodge trainer John Symons seeing red, Melbourne Cup winning hoop Scott Seamer could be retained for his next outing which looks likely next Sunday.

Symons, who was represented by the early winner Lord Shocker at Donald today, said the colt would be entered for "the Group One and the Three-Year-Old race next Sunday."

He was referring to the Group One $352,000 Dubai Racing Club Cup (1400m) and the Group Three $200,750 Carlton Draught Guineas Prelude over the same distance.

Bel Esprit pulled up "very good" today according to Symons and he was looking forward to his next start.

He said no firm decision had been made about who would be riding the son of Royal Academy at Caulfield, if he starts, and that would be a joint decision by all connections.
