Alderson's Star Out for the Spring.... Again

Injury plagued gelding De Gaulle Lane will miss his second consecutive spring carnival after damaging a ligament.

The runaway Queensland Derby winner had his first run at Caulfield last weekend and had pulled up well from that run according to his Cranbourne based trainer Colin Alderson.

However connections learned of the bad news when his latest problem was resolved in the past 24 hours.

Alderson reported that there is "no major damage", but added that if the son of The Commander would race on in the spring that damage would worsen.

The stable will now be pinning their staying spring aspirations on last yearÂ’s Caulfield Cup runner-up Sky Heights.
