Race 1 - DAVID SESSIONS BOBCAT HIRE - MAIDEN PLATE - 1600 metres:

RARE SPARKLE and RAVISTA were slow to begin.

E, Marchant rider of SHAKE EM UP stated to the Stewards that the mare over-raced in the middle stages of the race and rounding the home corner had a tendency to lay out. E. Marchant further stated that in the straight LOVE MODE raced like a tired horse and after passing 100m shifted in abruptly which resulted in the mare being held up for a clear run over the concluding stages of the race.

Race 2 - WORKSAFE VIC MAIDEN PLATE (1) - 1180 metres:

On the way to the barriers HOUR OF GLORY broke free from the Clerk of the Course near 1000m and broke through the outside running rail. Acting on veterinary advise Stewards ordered the withdrawal of FANCY IRISH at 12.34pm. Mr. D. McCrohan trainer of HOUR OF GLORY was notified that an official warning would be placed against the horse and should HOUR OF GLORY behave in a similar manner in future in may lead to some action being taken. As a result of this the start of the race was delayed. The following alterations were made to betting:

All monies bet for a win and/or place and concession betting on HOUR OF GLORY to be refunded.

All successful bets on horses prior to the time of withdrawal of HOUR OF GLORY are subject to the following deductions in the dollars from the face value of the ticket: WIN BETS: 7c PLACE BETS: 8c WINNING CONCESSION BETS: 7c DOUBLES BETS: 7c. * All monies bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at the face value of the ticket.

Approaching 500m BEND THE RULES was held up for a run. In the straight BEND THE RULES raced greenly and after passing 200m was disappointed for a run between PREMIUM RED and BOAT and after passing 100m BEND THE RULES which continued to race greenly had some difficulty in obtaining a run.

Race 3 - SPORT 927 MAIDEN PLATE - (2) - 1180M:

Approaching 600m BRADDOCK when racing greenly, shifted in abruptly and struck the running rail.

Rounding the home corner and in the straight SILVERMINE WOOD hung out. Mr. AG. Dickson representing trainer John Symons was notified that an official warning would be placed against the gelding and should SILVERMINE WOOD behave in a similar manner in future in may lead to some action being taken.

Stewards amended the track category from heavy to slow at 1.25pm

Race 4 - TOOHEYS NEW CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1180M:

After being placed in its stall CIPHER became restless and reared. CIPHER was taken out of the stalls, examined by the Club's Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to run.

V. Hall rider of GARROS was notified that he must ride his mounts out hands and heels to the end of the race.

Race 5 - ACCESS FUEL & LUBRICANTS S.V. 3Y.O MAIDEN PLATE - 1000M

MAJESTIC FLUSH jumped away awkwardly and then had to be eased off the heels of PALAKALANI. CHAR was slow to begin. TRICKY TORNADO jumped awkwardly. Shortly after the start TRICKY TORNADO had be eased to avoid the heels of CELTIC MANOR which shifted out. In the middle stages of the race MRS. BRADBURY raced greenly and near the 600m shifted in abruptly and hampered ASHKONI.

Approaching 400m CHAR was held up for a run. Shortly after this CHAR (V. Duric) which was racing greenly shifted out to obtain a narrow run on the outside of TAUBADA, who was also racing greenly. CHAR then shifted out further which resulted in PALAKANI being taken out onto MRS. BRADBURY and INASNIP which resulted in those horses being hampered. V. Duric was reprimanded and notified that he must exercise far more care when taking runs in the future.

Race 6 - PARISH AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERING CL. 5 HANDICAP- 1180M

On jumping away BENMORE shifted out and DUSTBUSTER shifted in resulting in SHUTTERS and DUSTBUSTER being hampered.

Race 7 - MULWALA SERVICES CLUB F & M CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1600M

Approaching 400m IDOL OF DEMUS had to be eased when tightened for room between SYMPHONETTE which shifted out slightly and GLEANINGS which was taken in slightly by TEQUILA BELLE.

Race 8 - B & Z E CREED PAINTERS CLASS 3 HANDICAP - 1600M

LIKE AUNTIE was slow to begin.

At the entrance to the straight SCENIC QUEST was held up for a run and then in the early part of the straight had to change course to obtain a run.

V. Hall rider of WILLWIN FLYER which had performed below expectations stated to the stewards that the gelding travelled will in the early stages of the race but failed to respond to his riding in the straight. V. Hall further stated that in his opinion the gelding was not suited by today's track conditions. A Veterinary Examination of WILLWIN FLYER revealed no abnormality.

Race 9 - CHESHIRE AND WILLIAMS REPAIRS CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1300M

After CELTIC BLUE was placed in the barriers the gelding became restless, kicked out, and struck TAWNY PULSE, which was drawn alongside CELTIC BLUE. TAWNY PULSE then panicked and then kicked out on a number of occasions. TAWNY PULSE and CELTIC BLUE were both removed from the barriers, examined by the Club's Veterinary Surgeon who ruled that both horses were unfit to start. Actiing on this advise Stewards withdrewe TAWNY PULSE and CELTIC BLUE at 4.41pm.

All successful bets on horse prior to the time of withdrawal of TAWNY PULSE are subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the ticket: WIN BETS: 14c PLACE BETS: 16c WINNING CONCESSION BETS: 15c DOUBLES BETS: 14c. All monies bet after the Stewards declaration of withdrawal to be paid at face value of the ticket.

On jumping away UCEM was severely hampered by CURVET who was taken in by KHARTOUM.

Also on jumping away TOUCH OF AMBER knuckled.

P. Robl rider of NOREAST ROYALE, which had performed poorly stated to the Stewards that in his opinion there was something amiss with the Gelding's action and NOREAST ROYALE had pulled up distressed.
