The Group One George Main Stakes will be run at Randwick and telecast live into the Valley. The race is a prelude to the Carlton Draught Cox Plate, with Sunline, Lohnro and Defier going head to head.
Punters at the
Valley will have the choice of best odds, with bookmakers and the tote on course.
At acceptance time this morning MVRC had received 26 acceptors for the 2040 metre open
handicap. The rail is out 7 metres for the meeting, so two divisions of 13 were made of
the race, with a prize purse of $40,000 for each.
"The agreement to divide will assist owners and trainers as they prepare their horses
through the Spring Carnival," said MVRC Chief Executive Paul Brettell.
