Horses To Follow - Moonee Valley 29 May 2010

Saturday at Moonee Valley saw the well fancied Our Baby Bonus salute comfortably for punters but a few of the following showed enough to be follow over the coming weeks:

Race 1: Tattsbet.com Two-Year-Old Fillies Handicap (1200m)

Kavanagh first starter Gunawati made a very solid debut and gave the impression she would’ve won on any other track in Australia today.  Always travelling but having to turn at the same time was probably the difference, finishing right on the heels of the race-experienced Enzed Girl.

If she pulls up well Gunawati will be hard to beat at her next start.

Race 4: Gillies Famous Pies Country Cup (3000m)

He may be at the end of a prep but Family Bliss had absolutely no luck in this.

Unable to bowl along and having to check a number of times before chasing horses full of momentum, the fifth was a big effort by the dour stayer.

These good valley stayers have a tendency of racing year in year out, so keep Family Bliss on your ‘back’ list 20/1 next time.

Race 7: Gillies Famous Pies Handicap (1500m)

Dabba Dancer was left for dead when they sprinted over the 1500m trip but found the line nice enough to expect a big showing when he gets to 2000m in the wet.

Although he has only had a short freshen up another win over ground doesn’t look far away and it could be at odds.

Race 8: Kyabram Club Handicap (1000m)

The ride on Elumino in the last at the Valley wasn’t one that Jack Hill will put on his resume.

It was a big effort for the Moody sprinter to figure in the prizemoney on the tails of Altitude & Take All Of Me both given dream runs.
