Horses To Follow - Caulfield 17 July 2010

Tonic Holds On At CaulfieldOn a beautiful winter's day and the best racing surface in weeks, outside of Geelong, lets have a look at who put the writing on the wall at Caulfield.

Race 2: Inglis Bonus Handicap (1000m)

Nothing can be taken away from the win of Brietling who looks the goods and will have what it takes to hold this lot at bay for the short term at least.  However keep your eye on Too Deadly if it looks for something a touch easier, it will win.  Big run on debut.

Also mark Soul down as a big prospect for next prep, this Darley youngster has a lot of growing to do and in my opinion will be the best of the three.

Race 5: Slickpix Cup (1400m)

Hasta Pronto is not the luckiest of horses, nor is it the best, but it has a hoof on the till and gives everything when it races.

Look for the gelding over 1600m in the same sort of race and you wont be too far wrong.

Race 8: Glasshouse Cafe Handicap (1200m)

Tonic was expertly ridden by premier jockey Steven King and probably was a rough chance to win first up despite being the best horse in the race.  With the race fitness will be very hard to knock off in its next few starts so stay on board.

An eye catching grey by Swettenham Stud's Dash For Dash you will at least be able to pick your money in the run!
