Hill Suspended

Jack HillApprentice Jack Hill was the only jockey to be suspended from Saturday’s meeting at Moonee Valley.

Hill pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding for permitting Chouxmaani to shift in when insufficiently clear of Belscenica at the point of the home turn, severely inconveniencing the mare and her rider Jarrod Fry.

Belscenica was able to overcome the interference, going on to win the $70,000 Travis Harrison Apprentices Cup (1514m) by three-quarters of a length.

Chouxmaani finished third, 1-1/4 lengths behind the winner.

Hill was suspended for 11 meetings (3 metro, 8 country) with his suspension to commence after Monday’s meeting at Swan Hill.
