Wood Riding Weight Increased

Justin WoodJustin Wood has had his minimum riding weight increased to 52.5kg.

Wood, 19, was fined $200 by Chief Steward Terry Bailey at Moonee Valley on Saturday for failing to claim his entitled allowance down to his minimum riding weight aboard Justsay Sumthink in the $70,000 Travis Harrison Apprentices Cup (1514m).

The apprentice consequently made an application to raise his minimum weight which was accepted.

He is yet to breakthrough for a win in the Melbourne metropolitan area since commencing a three month loan stint with Caulfield-based trainer Tony Vasil.

However he is riding well with limited opportunity as from only eleven rides in the metro area, Wood has been placed four times.
