Race 1 - SV 3YO Maiden Plate - 1100 metres:

When the gates opened Engage Her jumped away awkwardly resulting in R. McLeod the filly's rider losing his offside iron for a short distance.

Shortly after the start Monash shifted out and tightened Fancy A Flutter out on to Silver Patriot and Encryption, resulting in End Of The Line, which was racing to the outside of Encryption clipping that filly's heels and knuckling.

Rounding the home turn Majestic Radiance was held up for a short distance when unable to obtain a clear run.

Shortly after entering the straight Engage Her was held up for a run for a short distance.

Subsequent to the race the Club's Veterinary Surgeon reported that Majestic Radiance sustained injuries to its near hind hock.

Race 2 - Happy 30th Brett Besanko Maiden Plate - 1200 metres:

For some distance after passing the 1000 metres Kings Fortune and Oka raced tight between Modern Glory and Nosrevo (D. Schmitt) resulting in Kings Fortune being hampered and Oka having to be checked near the 900 metres. D. Schmitt was severely reprimanded and was notified to exercise more care when in similar circumstances in future.

Rounding the home turn Oka had to be checked off the heels of Bundaloch, which was racing tight on the inside of Kings Fortune.

An inquiry was adjourned into the reason for N. Perryman leaving the course without obtaining a clearance from the Stewards to do so.

Subsequent to the race the Club Veterinary Surgeon reported that Nosrevo was showing signs of respiratory distress. Mr. N. Cox trainer of the gelding was notified that prior to Nosrevo racing again he must be in receipt of a Veterinary examination of fitness for the gelding.

Race 3 - Maiden Plate (1) - 1450 metres:

When the gates opened Jugah Tone jumped away awkwardly.

Shortly after entering the straight Spacelab was held up for a run for a short distance.

An inquiry was adjourned into the reason for W. Treloar rider of Rose Of Rhada, 3rd placegetter failing to ride his mount out to the end of the race. An inquiry was also adjourned into the reason for W. Treloar leaving the course without obtaining a clearance from the Stewards to do so.

Race 4 - Maiden Plate (2) - 1450 metres:

Near the 800 metres Bissare, which laid out slightly, had to be eased off the heels of Social Swing, which shifted in slightly.

After passing the 200 metres Ceefa had to be eased out over the heels of Point Score.

Race 5 - Kyneton Daffodil Festival Class 3 Handicap - 1450 metres:

Acting on a confirmed telephone call from Ms Wendy Kelly trainer of Richwood Lad who stated that due to a float breakdown she was unable to arrive on course, Stewards ordered the withdrawal of Richwood Lad at 1.57 p.m.

Race 6 - Blue Ribbon Day Open Handicap - 1850 metres:

Rounding the home turn Baralae was held up for some distance when unable to obtain a clear run.

Race 7 - Tooheys New Class 2 Handicap - 1200 metres:

Mr. S. Webb trainer of Touch of Amber was fined the sum of $30 for using wrong colours on the gelding.

Race 8 - Campaspe Dining Room Class 1 Handicap - 1450 metres:

Near the 400 metres Barbean had to be checked when tightened for room between Strive For Gold, which was taken out slightly by Le Moola, and Mister Zed (E. Cassar), which shifted in slightly. E. Cassar was notified to exercise more care when in similar circumstances in future.

Near the 300 metres Rare Mica and Bear Mick had to be checked severely when racing tight on the inside of Sir Bollinger (S. Baster), which shifted in slightly when racing close to the heels of Intrusive. S. Baster was severely reprimanded and given the benefit of a doubt as to whether he was fully responsible for the incident.

An inquiry was adjourned into the reason for M. Pegus leaving the course without permission from the Stewards to do so.

Race 9 - Hanging Rock Class 2 Handicap - 1859 metres:

Approaching the winning post Walelle was hampered when tightened for room between Life's A Beach and Bio Lad, which was taken in slightly by Longmire.

SWAB SAMPLES:

Swab samples were taken from the following winners - Neopolitan (Race 2), Spacelab (Race 3), Ceefa (Race 4), Babyfaced Assassin (Race 5)

A random swab sample was taken from Hot Fame winner of Race 9.

Five horses were today pre-race blood tested for post race analysis.
