Quality mare Elegant Fashion is on track for a successful return to the track as she is aimed toward the Group One Caulfield Cup in October.

A member of the in form Lindsay Park training establishment, the Moonee Valley Oaks winner and AJC Oaks runner-up worked strongly between races in Adelaide on Saturday.

Her trainer Tony McEvoy was not at Morphettville but said that stable representatives were delighted with her work.

"She went perfect," McEvoy said of the filly's gallop with unbeaten stakes winning stablemate Pompous, who was ridden by Paul Gatt.

The top class mare who is owned by Dr Gene Tsoi, a long time Lindsay Park client, has been nominated for the Caulfield and Melbourne Cups and the Cox Plate during the upcoming Melbourne Spring Carnival.

Elegant Fashion, who was ridden in the gallop by Lindsay Park's number one rider Simon Price, shaded her stablemate at the finish.

Cyberhorse's Adelaide correspondent Jenny Barnes who captured some shots of the mare in her first public appearance this season, said the pair galloped strongly.

"Their last 600 metres was very good," Barnes reported. "And she (Elegant Fashion) was hardly blowing afterwards."

At this stage Elegant Fashion is expected to kick off in Saturday week's $201,000 Group 2 JJ Liston Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield, a race in which she could clash with Sunday's brilliant Aurie's Star Handicap winner Fields of Omagh.
