MAYHEM LAD was briefly held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

STYMIE & OBSTRUCTION were slow away.

STYMIE struck the running rail near the 800m.

Near the 600m STYMIE was briefly tightened for room.

Race 4 Boomerang Hotel Motel Open Hcp 6 Strs.

Over the concluding stages TELKALA shifted out under pressure and hampered BENNIES LANE.

Race 5 Maguires Hotel Class 2 Hcp 1050m 5 Strs.

DONE HEAPS jumped away awkwardly and made contact with BURGEE, which had blundered on jumping.

STEGASAURUSES hung out rounding the home turn and soon after shifted back in and inconvenienced ACQUIRE which had obtained a run to its inside.

The winner DONE HEAPS bled from both nostrils for the first time and automatically incurred a three (3) month ban from racing.

BABY SPICE was slow away.

GENERAL: Apprentice C. Spry was fined the sum of $200 for failing to claim an acceptable portion of his allowance on NOBLE EFFORT (Race 5) and AMEX (Race 6) at today's meeting.

RACE 1: AUSTRALIAN RED CROSS H'CAP - 1350M

SHA ALMA began very awkwardly and lost ground.

Approaching the first turn CYRILLIC got its head up and raced ungenerously for a short distance when restrained off the heels of SECRET POLISH.

Rounding the home turn PENNY LONG LASHES became unbalanced after being bumped by MORE DIAMONDS.

When attempting a narrow run between CYRILLIC and MAGIQUE SKY at the 300m, I'M IN HEAVEN was soon afterwards impeded for some distance due to slight movement from MAGIQUE SKY which received contact from BANYAN BAY.

After obtaining clear running approaching the 200m, I'M IN HEAVEN shifted out slightly resulting in CYRILLIC being taken out on to the heels of SHA ALMA.

Near the 200m the PENNY LONG LASHES had to be steadied away from the heels of MORE DIAMONDS which was taken in by SECRET POLISH. A veterinary examination of PENNY LONG LASHES, which weakened badly following this incident, revealed that the mare was displaying soreness as a consequence of lacerations to the near hind leg.

RACE 2: MOORE STEPHENS HL H'CAP - 2050M

SEMI JEWEL raced most ungenerously in the early stages of the event.

RACE 3: 4BH 882/ZOE'S PLACE H'CAP - 1640M

REGAL GENTLEMAN raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages.

Nearing the winning post TAHITIAN STAR resented being struck with the whip and attempted to buck.

The Club's veterinary surgeon reported that IRISH GLEN was lame in the off foreleg following the event.

RACE 6: 97.3 FM BRISBANE'S BEST MIX QTIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP - 1110M

Soon after the start AMEX and SILVER BELLS were cramped for room between GALWAY STAR and SANDASTA which was inclined to lay in.

DANCE SALLY DANCE began awkwardly and shifted in making contact with the hind quarters of SIT HERE DEAR.

SILVER BELLS and AMEX came together on a number of occasions approaching the home turn.

RACE 7: QUEENSLAND CHARITIES & BIRDSVILLE H'CAP - 1200M

Due to a heavy storm, the start of this race was delayed from the advertised starting time of 4.28 p.m. to 4.52 p.m. Following a downgrade of the track to dead, stewards acceded to a request from the connections of SASSI SWITCH to withdraw that mare. SASSI SWITCH was officially declared a late withdrawal at 4.37 p.m. On the announcement of correct weight, all monies invested on SASSI SWITCH were ordered to be refunded with deductions of 13 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets and 12 cents in the dollar on the face value of place bets placed prior to 4.37 p.m.

TYCHE reared as the start was effected and lost considerable ground. Trainer M. Currie was advised that TYCHE must perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial prior to its next race start.

Approaching the 200m OURS was inconvenienced by STARTELL which at that stage shifted out around the heels of OUT BREAK to obtain clear running. M. Pelling, the rider of STARTELL, was cautioned and urged to exercise more care when shifting ground.

RACE 8: XXXX H'CAP - 1030M

On return to scale a protest was lodged by P. Hammersley, the rider of 2nd placegetter SPIRIT OF NORWAY, against FINAL STORM being declared the winner alleging interference near the 200m. It was established that after obtaining a run between ACE RULE and FINAL STORM, SPIRIT OF NORWAY initially was placed in restricted room due to some slight outward movement from ACE RULE. It was further established that at the 200m FINAL STORM shifted in under pressure at a stage when not clear of SPIRIT OF NORWAY resulting in P. Hammersley having to steady his mount for a number of strides and alter course to the outside of FINAL STORM. In all of the circumstances and bearing in mind the margin of a half neck which separated both horses at the finishing line, stewards upheld the objection and amended the placings to read:

1st SPIRIT OF NORWAY
2nd FINAL STORM
3rd AVON JEWEL

At a subsequent inquiry G. Baker, the rider of FINAL STORM, was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in across the rightful running of SPIRIT OF NORWAY.

Inside the 200m TELE SERIES faltered and became unbalanced.

EXPLODER (App T Mathieson) hung out from the home turn to the finish post. Stewards advised Apprentice Mathieson to show more effort in the future to keep her mount straight.

RACE 2: OPEN H'CAP - 1100 METRES (7 STARTERS)

Trainer L Horstman was fined the sum of $50 under the terms of AR 59A for failing to produce the registration papers for BRIDLE COUCHE.
GANCIA SOVEREIGN (D Simmons) jumped away awkwardly as the start was affected.
BRIDLE COUCHE ( M Evans) tailed off early in the race and raced uncompetitively throughout.

RACE 3: CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1100 METRES (11 STARTERS)

IT ALL ADDS UP (M Unwin) jumped inwards at the start and then raced ungenerously for the early to middle stages of the event.
WYNYA (C Beets) jumped away awkwardly as the start was affected.
At approximately the 900metre mark LITTLE CLAUDIA (App L Timson) was hampered for racing room to the inside of WAR DRUM (App H Watanabe).
App. L Timson rider of LITTLE CLAUDIA was admonished by the Stewards for using her whip in an excessive manner on a horse which was clearly out of contention.

RACE 4: CLASS 3 H'CAP - 1100 METRES (14 STARTERS)

At the 950 metre mark TIME TO WATCH (D Whitmore) hung inwards and had to be restrained.
At approximately the 900 metre mark OUR MAN DUKE (App L Timson) improved on to the heels of MY SUCCESS (J Marks) and had to be steadied resulting in that horse striking the running rail.
DAI RULER (M Unwin) raced wide on the track at approximately the 900 metre mark when entering the first turn.
At approximately the 200 metre mark HILDA CHOICE (M Barnham) shifted outwards and hampered SPEAR JET (C Beets) which was compounding at the time. HILDA CHOICE (M Barnham) was accidentally struck by the whip by the rider of MY SUCCESS (J Marks).

RACE 5: 3 YO MAIDEN H'CAP - 1000 METRES (8 STARTERS)

DASHING RED (J Marks) was a late scratching at the barriers by order of Stewards after the horse had become fractious and damaged its saddle. Prior to the declaration of correct weight Stewards ordered that deductions be made at a rate of 3 cents in the dollar for the win portion of the bet and 3 cents in the dollars for the place portion of the bet. Stewards advised Trainer Mr O'Sullivan that DASHING RED is now barred from racing until such time as he can obtain a further barrier certificate for the horse.
As the start was affected BOLD REGAL ( C Beets) and REGAL KELLINA (D Whitmore) cannoned into each other.
Stewards severely admonished Jockey J Marks with regard to his conduct in the saddling enclosure prior to the race.

RACE 6: MAIDEN H'CAP - 1200 METRES (12 STARTERS)

As the start was affected KINGDOM ROCK (M Unwin) and IF IT FITS (App L Timson) came together.

RACE 7 CLASS 5 H'CAP - 1200 METRES (7 STARTERS)

As the start was affected CHESS PIECE (J Marks) jumped inwards making heavy contact with WESTERN BRONZE (M Barnham) who in turn shifted inwards and inconvenienced WESTERN BRACE (B Appo). CHESS PIECE was inclined to lay inwards in the early stages of the event.

RACE 8 CLASS 3 H'CAP - 1600 METRES (12 STARTERS)
As the start was affected POKER (D Simmons) was slow into stride.
Jockey J Stephens was advised to show more care in the future after allowing his mount IL PRESIDENTE to shift outwards after the concluding stages which resulted in PATILLA (App L Timson) being taken outwards onto NIGHT IN VIENNA (App H Watanabe).

RACE 1: PHIL DOOLAN EARTHMOVING MAIDEN HANDICAP - 6 STARTERS

Jockey R. Hammond was replaced by D. Slack-Smith on STOLEN SILVER due to R. Hammond being unable to make the allocated weight. At a subsequent inquiry Jockey R. Hammond was charged under Rule 120(a) for accepting a ride for which he could not ride at the allocated weight. R. Hammond was found guilty of the charge and was fined the sum of $50.

FALCON KNIGHT was slow to jump and missed the start by several lengths. Jockey M. Campbell explained to stewards that the horse threw its head in the air as the gates opened resulting in his slow start.

RACE 2: WINTON EXPRESS & SUNCORP METWAY CLASS 5 HANDICAP - 4 STARTERS

STUMPY JESTER jumped in as the start was affected brushing SEMI DANCER causing that horse slight inconvenience.

RACE 3: WINTON PLUMBING SERVICE & RAY WHITE RURAL CLASS 3 HANDICAP - 5 STARTERS

MAGIC BANNER jumped outwards as the start was affected.

J. Long, the rider of GOODBYE CHIEF, reported to stewards that despite his efforts to ride the horse forward the horse was reluctant to go past MAGIC BANNER who was leading over the concluding stages of the race. J. Long's explanation was noted.

RACE 4: ALEX ELLIOTT (PATRON) HANDICAP - 5 STARTERS.

No racing incidents.

RACE 5: JACK COOMS MEMORIAL CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 5 STARTERS

Trainer B. Seaton presented BUTTERBEAN for Race 5 without pacifiers. Mr Seaton advised that he had submitted a gear change to the Townsville office of the Queensland Thoroughbred Racing Board earlier in the week to remove the pacifiers. Stewards will pursue the matter further.

Stewards questioned Jockeys T. Hill, BILLY MISCHIEF, D. Slack-Smith, STAFINDALE and L. Critoph, BUTTERBEAN, in relation to an incident at approximately the 600 metres point where BILLY MISCHIEF was checked and lost ground. After hearing evidence from the riders concerned and from viewing the film it was ascertained that STAFINDALE had a tendency to hang in despite the efforts of jockey D. Slack-Smith causing BILLY MISCHIEF to be checked. A warning was placed on the horse. Connections of the horse will be advised of same as they had left the course.

GENERAL
GREY HOPE nominated for today's meeting was found to be ineligible for the race. The trainer of the horse was not present on course. Stewards will pursue the matter further.

All winners were swabbed and samples sent for analysis.

All horses that competed at the meeting were inspected and identified.

Subsequent to the event, stewards ordered all monies invested on the mare be refunded, with deductions of 11 cents in the dollar on the face value of win and place bets, applicable to successful wagers placed prior to the withdrawal time. Trainer T. Whittington was advised he would be required to provide a veterinary certificate of fitness for BLITZES prior to its next race start.

YARRABIN GOLD pulled hard in the early stages.

RACE 2: EMIRATES H'CAP - 1350M.

On jumping away, RIVIERA TREASURE and FRANGIPANI made contact.

IMPULSIVE LASS was obliged to race wide throughout the event.

RACE 3: AMBASSADOR TRAVEL H'CAP - 1350M.

Upon request of trainer, Mr P. Sexton, HASS LINC was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of CAMINO REAL, S. Galloway stated that the gelding was under pressure from the 800m. and in his opinion may have failed to back up from its previous start on 28 August. A veterinary examination of CAMINO REAL failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 4: HOLDEN H'CAP - 1110M.

Stable representative S. Clark was advised that MISTER CHIPS would be required to trial satisfactorily prior to its next start after that gelding bucked shortly after the start, dislodging jockey M. Bennett.

Making the first turn, BILL THE BOATMAN, when being restrained off the heels of EUROMBAH, shifted out and made contact with OUR COGNAC.

Approaching the 800m., HADRIAN hung out across the heels of FOOTWEAR and then continued to hang out for the remainder of the event. HADRIAN will be required to undergo a series of barrier trials before starting again.

BILL THE BOATMAN, which was found be bleeding from both nostrils upon return to the enclosure, will be barred from racing for the mandatory period of 3 months. A swab sample was taken from BILL THE BOATMAN.

RACE 5: MCGIRVAN MEDIA H'CAP - 1630M.

Making the home turn, POP WILL had to be steadied off the heels of START ME UP.

RACE 6: IPG PRINT H'CAP - 1350M.

When presented to the enclosure, it was established that NAUDERS did not have a lead bag which had been included in the weigh out. Subsequently, Trainer D.B. Bougoure pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 140A, in that he failed to include the lead bag when saddling NAUDERS and was fined $300.

FRISKY STAR and DIRECTOR'S SPECIAL were slow to begin.

Approaching the 800m., NED'S REVENGE shifted out, taking LUNCHTIME LEGEND out across the heels of ATOCHA. In this incident LUNCHTIME LEGEND blundered.

After leaving the 800m., FRISKY STAR commenced to race ungenerously, and passing the 600m. shifted out, forcing NAUDERS wider on the track.

Apprentice Z. Purton was questioned as to why he did not ride NAUDERS out to the finish line. He stated that he had been forced wide making the home turn, and he placed the gelding under pressure, however near the 150m. he was of the opinion there may have been something amiss with NAUDERS and as a result he stopped riding at approximately the 100m.. Whilst stewards noted the explanation, Z. Purton was advised that at all times he must ride his mounts right out to the finish line to the best of his ability, however if he is of the opinion something is amiss with his mount, he must report that immediately to the stewards in order that the horse may be examined by the club's veterinary surgeon.

RACE 7: CLEANEVENT H'CAP - 1200M.

CENTURY'S GIFT jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

MERV'S WISH began awkwardly and made contact with the starting gate, and was further hampered shortly after the start by GRACEWICK, which shifted in.

SYDNEY SIDER also jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

Making the first turn, GRACEWICK had to be steadied off the heels of BIRKDALE LAD, which was taken in slightly by SPIRIT OF AMERICA.

SPIRIT OF AMERICA shifted in under pressure after leaving the 200m., which obliged S. McLean to stop riding and straighten his mount near the 50m..

D Rewald (COLOSSUS) replaced J Baker who was unable to make the required weight.

At the start COLOSSUS jumped out and across the running of GREAT WONDER, which was slowly away.

SINISTER jumped out making contact with MARLOCK.

Leaving the 700m for some distance, MASTER CAMERON got its head up whilst racing ungenerously.

Trainer S Watters reported that SAHARA LOCH got its tongue over the bit during running. S Watters also stated that he intends racing the gelding in a tongue - tie in the future.

When questioned why he only rode his mount hand and heels, S Katsidis stated that connections advised him that the gelding preferred being ridden that way. S Katsidis also stated that he gave his mount a back hander on straightening at which time his mount appeared to resent it, explanation noted.

RACE 5: DARRYL YOUNG MEMORIAL FLYING H'CAP - 1000M.

Approaching the 700m TURF ACE shifted in making contact with YALLAKAZAAN.

SEAETTA was forced wider on the track by WONDER KICK, which shifted out over the concluding stages.

RACE 6: RADIO 4WK / HANNAS JOCKEY CHALLENGE CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1400M.

BACK TO SCRATCH, BUZZ and JUST SCRUMPTIOUS were slowly away.

JUST SCRUMPTIOUS, which got its tongue over the bit during running, over - raced in the early and middle stages.

BUZZ returned to scale with a cut to the outside of the near fore fetlock.

RACE 7: FRIENDLY SOCIETY DISPENSARY OPEN H'CAP - 1300M.

Trainer C Hohn was fined the sum of $50 for failing to declare the rider for SEABAS by the required time.

Due to a printer's error in the racebook, R Goltz was not shown as the rider of CELESTIAL SPRINTER.

CELESTIAL SPRINTER jumped awkwardly.

Approaching the 900m NEPELLE was steadied when RED INTRO shifted in.

RACE 8: HANNAS TOOWOOMBA CLASS 3 H'CAP - 1400M.

TOODALOO was slowly away.

ZAMCAY was held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

STYLE QUEEN was inclined to hang in, in the early stages of the home straight.

Jockey J Baker was found guilty of a breach of AR120 (b) in that he accepted the rides on CORAL SKY and COLOSSUS at today's meeting, both of which he was unable to ride at the required weight. J Baker was suspended from riding in races for a period of 8 meetings to be served cumulatively with a 6 meeting suspension for overweight that was imposed on 1-09-02. The 8 meeting suspension will take affect as of 12-09-02 and will expire at mid - night 24-09-02.

As S. Shield was indisposed, K. Pope was substituted as the rider of FIRE ANT and NOBLE VAIN (Race 4), and A. Merritt as the rider of MCGINTY ROSE (Race 8).

PIPPI was slow to begin.

Passing the 1300m., QUISTADOR was momentarily hampered by SAHARA CANNY, which shifted in.

Shortly after straightening, FIRE ANT, when shifting out to improve, made contact with DUNEDIN FLYER. A short distance later, DUNEDIN FLYER, when under pressure, became unbalanced and shifted wider on the track.

RACE 2: TRANSCONTINENTAL HOTEL BRISBANE H'CAP - 1460M.

On return to scale a protest was lodged by G. Geran, rider of the 2nd placegetter, JESTERANA, against EAST HENDRED being declared the winner, alleging interference near the 50m.. In dismissing the protest, stewards were satisfied that whilst EAST HENDRED had hung in under pressure and made contact with JESTERANA, the incident had not materially affected the result of the race.

EAST HENDRED was slow to begin.

TUNE TO was tightened for room at the start between DREAM TRAP and TARANA AVENUE, which shifted in after the start.

For some distance after the start, TARANA AVENUE and TUNE TO made contact.

Approaching the 1200m., TARANA AVENUE was inclined to shift in away from JESTERANA, which resulted in TUNE TO being tightened and forced in on to DREAM TRAP, which was taken in on to OXFORD BELLE, causing that horse to lose ground.

RACE 3: BRISBANE BUS LINES H'CAP - 1460M.

Stewards have opened an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the nomination and scratching of COL'S INVESTMENT and PRIDE OF PARIS.

RACE 4: MYER BRISBANE CITY H'CAP - 800M.

On return to scale a protest was lodged by the connections of the 2nd placegetter, RAPID VICTORY, against DEVONPORT being declared the winner, alleging interference leaving the 200m.. After hearing evidence from the riders, and witness jockey M. Crawford, rider of WARIALDA HONEY, stewards dismissed the protest. In dismissing the objection, stewards were of the opinion that whilst DEVONPORT shied and made the crossing leaving the 200m. awkwardly, WARIALDA HONEY also made the crossing awkwardly of its own accord, which resulted in interference being suffered by RAPID VICTORY. When being checked away from the heels of WARIALDA HONEY, RAPID VICTORY blundered and shifted wider on the track.

FAST SHOT, YANDINA LASS, WISE PROSPECTOR and FOREIGN TOUCH were all severely hampered on jumping away when tightened for room between WARIALDA HONEY and SUERAY when both horses shifted ground simultaneously.

LOCHRAE PRINCESS jumped awkwardly and lost ground at the start.

Near the 700m., FOREIGN TOUCH was tightened for room between WISE PROSPECTOR and SUERAY, which shifted in.

Leaving the 700m., NOBLE VAIN and MIKEY'S RUBY bumped.

RACE 5: WILSON HTM H'CAP - 800M.

SEATELL was a late scratching at 9.42 a.m. on veterinary advice.

PAROLE TIME reared at the start and lost ground.

CO TESTEST was slow to begin.

Approaching the course proper, EVENOMATION shifted out, taking COOLATAI LASS and CABARU QUEEN wider on the track.

RACE 6: MATER CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL H'CAP - 1200M.

FREE AND CLEAR was a little slow to begin.

When questioned concerning the performance of JOANIE CEE and his riding of that mare around the home turn, apprentice L. Fitzsimmons explained that when under pressure approaching the home turn, his saddle rolled and he had intended easing the horse out of the race, however after altering his weight he was able to manouvre the saddle back into position, and then was able to test his mount near the 200m.. A veterinary examination of JOANIE CEE failed to reveal any abnormality. L. Fitzsimmons' explanation was noted.

RACE 7: BETTY MCGRATH H'CAP - 1200M.

MANTELO and PRINCE ZEDDAAN were tightened for room at the start between ROYAL CANNON and COUNTRY ROSE, which shifted out.

Approaching the 1000m., VAIN AND HANDY commenced to overrace and shifted out, making heavy contact with IMPORTED PRINCE.

Leaving the 1000m., when racing in restricted room, PRINCE ZEDDAAN shifted in, making heavy contact with the running rail and lost ground.

RACE 8: MATER TRUST H'CAP - 1200M.

Trainer J. Wade was fined $50 for failing to notify S. Campton as the rider for EXTREME RED by the prescribed time.

TIGER MALT and NOBLE CRUISE were slow to begin.

TOUCH PRINCE jumped outwards at the start.

Shortly after the start, NOBLE CRUISE was tightened between EXTREME RED and MCGINTY ROSE, which shifted out.

When the pace steadied approaching the 800m., DARTANYON had to be eased off the heels of leader, MCGINTY ROSE. TOUCH PRINCE, which was trailing, had to be restrained off the heels of DARTANYON, and similarly TIGER MALT, which was trailing, had to be eased off the heels of TOUCH PRINCE.

TOUCH PRINCE overraced in the middle stages.

Leaving the 200m., SUMMER WALTZ was momentarily held up inside the heels of CONGRESSIONAL, which shifted in slightly under pressure.

For some distance approaching and rounding the home turn, TOUCH PRINCE was held up for clear running.

Leaving the 500 metres CERAUNO made contact with the running rail.

BARSHALLAH was forced to race wide for the entire event.

RACE 2: CALOUNDRA RSL QTIS ADDED STAKES HANDICAP - 1300M.

LOVE A SONG, ROBREDO and TRISTRAM'S TRUCE were all slow to begin.

Shortly after the start CINAMAN shifted in and made heavy contact with ISADORABLE resulting in that horse making heavy contact with PRINCESS EAGLE.

Both PERONISTA and CRAIGLEA LUCK raced ungenerously in the early stages of the event.

Leaving the 400 metres MISS JONES shifted out to improve and made contact with ROBREDO.

ISADORABLE was unable to obtain clear running from a point leaving the 200 metres.

RACE 3: LEANNE CROOK MEMORIAL HANDICAP - 1400M.

Rounding the home turn ROYAL NUI was hampered between PERTREECE and MAGIC RAINBOW which shifted out.

Leaving the 500 metres BIDDADDABA had to be steadied away from the heels of ROYAL ARCHWAY which was taken in slightly by ARMORDON.

RACE 4: MICHAEL RODD HANDICAP - 1800M.

OBRIGADO was slow to begin.

Apprentice L Fitzsimmons rider of AQUA LEONE was reprimanded for allowing his mount to shift in approaching the 1200 metres when steadying off the heels of KANAZAWA. CHEERFULLY which was racing to the inside of AQUE LEONE was hampered in this incident.

Leaving the 200 metres CHEERFULLY had to be steadied when tightened for room between LAWLER and AQUA LEONE which shifted out.

RACE 5: MICHAEL McDONALD HANDICAP - 1000M.

STARS IN BARS which was restless in the stalls, jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

BONZA KING was very slow to begin.

Leaving the 600 metres IRON ORE made contact with SHOWZON and as a result shifted out taking STARS IN BARS wider on the track. DESERT PHOENIX which was following had to steady to avoid the heels of STARS IN BARS.

RACE 6: KEN POPE HANDICAP - 1000M.

FAIR RALEIGH was slow to begin.

MUHALIA jumped in the air as the gates were released and lost considerable ground.

Leaving the 700 metres FAIR RALEIGH shifted in and made contact with the running rail.

When attempting a run between BILLY JARRAH and WILLO ROSE leaving the 300 metres RAW PRAWN had to be steadied when BILLY JARRAH shifted in slightly.

Leaving the 200 metres RAW PRAWN had to be checked when tightened for room by WILLO ROSE which shifted out. Whilst Stewards acknowledged that WILLO ROSE did have a tendency to hang out jockey A Abrahams rider of WILLO ROSE was nonetheless reprimanded over this incident.

A post race Veterinary examination of WILLO ROSE revealed the filly to be lame in the right foreleg.

RACE 7: BRUCE McLACHLAN HANDICAP - 1200M.

Acting on Veterinary advice A THOUSAND DEGREES was declared a late scratching at 9.45am.

RACE 8: JOHN O'BRIEN HANDICAP - 1300M.

BOLD MOLLY jumped in at the start and made contact with CAPE SCHANCK.

Approaching the 800 metres WAR CHANT had to be steadied when taken across the heels of LADY KATH by TUNGMAHAL which shifted out.

Near the 300 metres HIT THE COT had to be checked to avoid the heels of BILLY CART HILL after being taken out by the tiring LADY KATH.

Under AR 143 correct weight was declared after jockey C Dawes rider of LUCKY EYES weighed in .05kg lighter than his handicapped weight. It was established that a cloth under the saddle had become dislodged near the 600 metres.

At the start JANEY JEAN was hampered between CUDDLIN', which jumped in and MERVYN, which jumped out.

VISA CARD, MY MISS SPRITELY, BONNE BELIEVER and DIVA DIVINE were slowly away.

Leaving the 800m JANEY JEAN was steadied when MERVYN shifted out abruptly whilst racing greenly.

Approaching the 400m MERVYN got its head up whilst being eased from heels.

Near the 400m SECRET GARDENS, which knuckled, shifted in and made contact with the running rail. BOLD ANTICIPATION, which was following, was obliged to be eased.

DIVA DIVINE was inclined to lie out in the home straight.

Leaving the 100m JANEY JEAN was steadied when MERVYN shifted out.

MERVYN took out JANEY JEAN, over the concluding stages.

CASH ?N' CARRY (R Goltz) whilst racing in restricted room to the inside of ALL NATIVE (G Lynch), brushed the fence on a number of occasions from the 600m until the home turn. G Lynch was reprimanded for placing CASH ?N' CARRY in restricted room for some distance.

Approaching the 800m HOW NEAT got its head up whilst being steadied.

Leaving the 200m ZENOBIA was steadied when hampered by MISS D'VINA, which took a tight run to its inside.

Once placed under pressure in the home straight, HOW NEAT was inclined to lie in.

On the point of the home turn COSMIC COMET and SHANNON LEE made contact.

Leaving the 800m BLUE CHERUB was eased away from the heels of IN SYNC.

Leaving the 400m SEQURA, which was taken out by EYES FOREVER, made contact with KING AND CAPTAIN.

Shortly after KING AND CAPTAIN, which shifted in initially, then shifted out abruptly, hampering BUSH PILOT and IN SYNC. As a consequence of the incident BUSH PILOT and IN SYNC were forced wide on the home turn.

Approaching the 100m BLUE CHERUB was disappointed for a run.
