RACE 1:CLASS 4 H'CAP - 1400 METRES (8 STARTERS)

As the start was affected DAVE'S CHANCE (G Evans) jumped away awkwardly.
DISAPPEAR (J Stephens) struck the running rail at approximately the 600 metre mark.
At approximately the 300 metre mark POKER (D Simmons) shifted in marginally which then resulted in TIMBER PRINCE (J Piper) being taken inwards slightly which then resulted in DAVE'S CHANCE (G Evans) being taken inwards and making heavy contact with MR INTEGRITY (B Bell) who in turn made contact with DISAPPEAR (J Stephens) which caused that horse to be hampered.

RACE 2: CLASS 3 H'CAP - 1000 METRES (10 STARTERS)

BAYARDO (L Timson) was a late scratching at 12:08pm by order of the stewards acting on veterinary advice after the horse had injured itself on the float.
Trainer M Crowley was reprimanded by the Stewards under the terms of Ar141A(b) for presenting DIN DAENG (C Beets) to the saddling enclosure with oversized nails.
As the start was affected ESPIRE (H Watanabe) slipped in the hindquarters upon jumping.
DIN DAENG (C Beets) was disappointed for a clear run over the concluding stages of the event. Upon returning to the enclosure DIN DAENG had the presence of blood in both nostrils and was deemed to have bled under the terms of the rule AR53A, this was confirmed by the veterinary surgeon.
Trainer M Crowley was advised by the Stewards that DIN DAENG was now barred from racing for a period of 3 calendar months.

RACE 3: MAIDEN H'CAP - 1000 METRES (11 STARTERS)

WESTERN GLOW (M Evans) was a late scratching at the barriers by order of Stewards when the horse failed to be loaded. Prior to the declaration of correct weight the Stewards ordered deductions be made of 5 cents in the dollar for the win portion of the bet and 6 cents in the dollar for the place portion of the bet.
Trainer B Ibbotson was advised that WESTERN GLOW was now barred until such time as that horse successfully passes an official barrier trial.
It was reported by Trainer D Badham that his horse GO GIRL returned to the enclosure with blood in its mouth having sustained an injury in the barriers prior to the event.
As the start was affected RAPTIME (M Barnham) jumped outwards making heavy contact with DASHING RED (S Quick).
KAIMOTO (L Timson) was slow into stride as the start was affected.
SUPER COOPER (D Simmons) laid outwards at the 600 metre mark.
Stewards reprimanded Jockey J Marks the rider of DANZINA under the terms of AR147A(2a) in that over the concluding stages of the event he used his whip forward of the horses shoulder in the vicinity of the neck.

RACE 4: OPEN H'CAP - 1200 METRES (12 STARTERS)

HAS IT ALL (J Piper) raced erratically in the early to middle stages of the event.
When rounding the home turn CARRARA LAD (M Unwin) and GENERAL TONG (B Appo) came together.
MONTROSE BILL (D.Whitmore) brushed the running rail at approximately the 450m mark.
Under the terms of AR141a(B) Stewards issued a reprimand to Trainer N Brown in that he presented GENERAL TONG into the enclosure with oversized nails.

RACE 5: CLASS 6 H'CAP - 1100 METRES (6 STARTERS)

RIO PARK (D Whitmore) jumped outwards as the start was affected.
FINAL MOUSE (App N Nelson) raced wide into the straight and continued to lay out until the winning post.
Stewards opened an enquiry into the tactics which were adopted by both App H Watanabe the rider of ATHENE'S STAR and Jockey J Stephens the rider of PROUD GLANCE. After taking evidence from both riders Stewards adjourned the inquiry until a time and date to be fixed.

RACE 6: CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1300 METRES (13 STARTERS)

Jockey C.Beets was dislodged from his mount MACGNOME during the preliminary of this race. MACGNOME was inspected by the club's veterinary surgeon and was passed fit to start, Jockey Beets did not sustain any injuries and resumed his place as the rider of MACGNOME.
KWILA QUEEN (G Evans) jumped away awkwardly as the start was affected.
MISTER BANKER (J Marks) raced erratically for a number of strides at approximately the 900 metre mark.
At approximately the 350m mark PACK OF GOLD (App L.Timson) shifted outwards and made contact with HIGHEST POWER (M.Unwin).

GENERAL REPORT:

Stewards opened an inquiry into a complaint lodged by Steward Mr G Wust pertaining to licensed stablehand Miss Samantha Smith after taking evidence from both parties Stewards adjourned the inquiry to a time and date to be fixed.
Stewards also intend to inquire into the reason for Miss Samantha Smith leaving the course without permission.

YUKMARR dwelt as the gates opened.

RACE 2: PRO CAST CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1119M.

BOLD HEART (D Green), which dislodged the rider at the barriers, was withdrawn at 4.35 p m after competing a circuit of the course. Deductions on all win bets were paid less 3 cents in the $1 win and 3 cents in the $1 place. Trainer G Winning was advised that BOLD HEART is required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next start.

COTTON BRAE and MILLCAY were slowly away.

CUDDLIN' brushed the running rail at the 400m.

COTTON BRAE was held for clear running leaving the 400m.

Approaching the 200m BOSPORUS was inconvenienced by COOL MAGI, which shifted out.

RACE 3: CATER CARE AUSTRALIA CLASS 2 H'CAP - 1320M.

On returning to scale A Parramore rider of the second horse CLEAR STRATEGY lodged an objection against LUILATUI being declared the winner for alleged interference in the home straight. After taking evidence from riders, connections and viewing of the patrol film stewards dismissed the objection, as they believed the degree of interference did not warrant the objection being upheld.

At the start BLETCHMORE made contact with PALATIAL SOUND when taken in by OAKEY JEWEL, which jumped in.

Approaching the 900m GRETZKY improved to the inside of the heels of LUILATUI where there was restricted room.

CLEAR STRATEGY and ALWAYS TRUMPS were taken out over the concluding stages by LUILATUI, which shifted out.

RACE 4: GARDEN CITY CABS FILLIES & MARES CLASS 3 H'CAP - 1320M.

MISS SEQUALO was slowly away.

Shortly after the start ENYIA CARRATE and KEPT IN PLAY were crowded for room between MISS D'VINA and MILLY'S HAT.

Leaving the 1000m MARCASITE got its head up when crowded for room by LADY KATH, which was taken in by HOW NEAT (B Appo). B Appo was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when not clear to do so.

Near the 850m MARCASITE was tightened for room by LADY KATH, which was taken in by KEPT IN PLAY, which was lying in.

Approaching the 800m HOW NEAT was eased from heels.

Near the 600m MARCASITE was eased from the heels of HOW NEAT, which was eased from heels.

J Sharp had a harmless fall from STELLAR SPECTRA at the pull up.

A veterinary examination of MISS D'VINA and LADY KATH, which performed poorly, failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 5: OASIS HEALTH & BEAUTY SPA CLASS 4 H'CAP - 1219M.

M Dorrington (HEROIC DUTY) replaced P Spry who was unable to make the required weight. P Spry was fined the sum of $50.

CASH 'N' CARRY jumped awkwardly.

Shortly after the start MURRAY BRIDGE was eased when tightened for room by SELF TITLED, which was lying in.

Leaving the 550m SELF TITLED brushed the running rail whilst lying in.

Near the 550m MURRAY BRIDGE was eased when it shifted out and onto the heels of HEROIC DUTY.

CAPANNELLE shifted out over the concluding stages.

RACE 6: DOWNLANDS COLLEGE ENTIRES & GELDINGS MAIDEN H'CAP - 1219M.

DO AS I SAY and RODANZA were slowly away.

CHIPPY'S PICK and KWIGEBO made contact on jumping.

SOLAR DANCER jumped awkwardly.

Shortly after the start ASTUTE SPRITE and CATCH A CLASSIC made contact.

Leaving the 1000m KWIGEBO was eased from the heels of CHIPPY'S PICK.

KWILA KNIGHT raced ungenerously in the early stages.

Leaving the 800m KWIGEBO was crowded for room by MONTEAL BEAU, which shifted in whilst lying in.

Approaching the 50m HIDDEN AMBITION shifted in under pressure.

Apprentice L Morrison was found guilty of a careless riding charge in that leaving the 1000m she permitted her mount, HIDDEN AMBITION to shift in taking RODANZA in, which caused MONTEAL BEAU to be taken in making contact with the hindquarters of CHIPPY'S PICK. L Morrison was suspended from riding in races for a period of 8 meetings to take affect as of mid - night 19-09-02 and to expire at mid - night 3-10-02.

RACE 7: ALQUIP FILLIES & MARES MAIDEN H'CAP - 1018M.

G Lynch (MARZOO) had a harmless fall from his mount when it reared over whilst being loaded. The veterinary officer cleared MARZOO to take its place in the field. Trainer T Catip was advised that MARZOO is required to pass a barrier jumpout prior to its next start.

EYES FOREVER and BONNE BELIEVER were slowly away.

QUEENSLAND BELLE jumped awkwardly.

TAT'S RAKU jumped in making contact with PEASEBLOSSOM.

Leaving the 800m DANERIN was steadied when PEASEBLOSSOM shifted in.

Leaving the 800m RED TRAIN was momentarily crowded for room by QUEENSLAND MADE, which shifted in.
Approaching the 600m QUEENSLAND MADE blundered when it shifted out and clipped the heels of MARZOO.

Shortly after MARZOO and RED TRAIN were steadied when PRINCESS FIONA (D Green) shifted in abruptly. D Green was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when not clear to do so.

Leaving the 500m RED TRAIN and PRINCESS FIONA were held up for clear running.

On the point of the home turn DON'T COMPLAIN and SKI THE TIDE were hampered by DANERIN (D Tanti), which shifted out to obtain clear running. D Tanti was reprimanded for permitting his mount to shift ground when not clear to do so.

Approaching the 50m EYES FOREVER ducked in.

MINK LADY slowly away. TAYTAM DANCER jumped with its head in the air while AMBER CORINNE has jumped in and both ATHEROL and DAAM DREAMIN have jumped out. AMBER CORINNE and NKALA COUNTY shifted extremely wide on the home turn while NKALA COUNTY raced ungenerously in the straight.

RACE 2: CLASS 2 H'CAP - 1000m

Shortly after the start STEVO shifted in while BLUE AZZETTA has jumped out causing LITTLE PO to be squeezed out. At about the 600m AUSSIELLE shifted out marginally while LITTLE PO rolled in causing R Barone the rider of AUSSIELLE to ease slightly. LITTLE PO hung out on the home turn.

RACE 3: CLASS 6 H'CAP - 1000m

ZAC'S BACK slowly away. ROCKY SANDS jumped out while DOGON jumped in causing SUBJUDE to be squeezed out. At about the 600m CAPTAIN SKUTTLE shifted out causing a minor inconvenience to DOGON. Both CAPTAIN SKUTTLE and SUBJUDE shifted ground down the running.

RACE 4: OPEN H'cap - 1400m

Shortly after the start ROTELLA shifted out coming into contact with CAPTAIN SMOOTH while ACE OF SPADES (NZ) has rolled in slightly. At about the 300m ROTELLA has shifted out coming into contact with ACE OF SPADES (NZ) causing R Hammond to lose his off side iron for several strides. At about the 50m EXPLODER shifted in marginally.

RACE 5: QTIS CLASS 4 H'CAP - 1400m

After the start SWAPPED jumped in making contact with SMOKEY HALO who in turn came into contact with ENVISION who had rolled out marginally.

As M CULLEN was indisposed, D Canny was substituted as the rider of ARCH DUKE.

A Veterinary examination of DESERT CROWN, which was slow into stride and tailed off throughout the event, revealed that the gelding was lame in the near hind leg. Trainer R BRADSHAW was advised that DESERT CROWN must perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial prior to its next race start. He was also advised that he would be required to produce a veterinary certificate prior to its next race start.

L ABBOTT lost her right iron when her mount REAL ASSET and ARCH BUKE made heavy contact at the 900m

RECEIVING STATION made the 900m turn awkwardly shifting out. At the same time CANADIAN PRINCE which was travelling on the outside of RECEIVING STATION had to be steadied.

BIKINI LOVE shifted in at the 200m resulting in MADISON AVENUE to be steadied to avoid the heels of BIKINI LOVE. L FITZSIMMONS, the rider of BIKINI LOVE was reprimanded.

RACE 2: SPRING CREEK H'CAP - 1000M

SMYTZER'S OFFICER reared at the start losing ground.

ARDRITZ was inclined to lay in over concluding stages of race.

RACE 3: STANBROKE DIAMANTINA BRACELET H'CAP - 1250M

MELLING received a 2kg penalty for its win on Friday 13 September 2002 and carried 59kgs.

BIG DIAMOND jumped in at the start crowding LET'S RAW.

LET'S RAW. Was held up for clear running until leaving the 200m

SEA SERENADE had to be steadied at the 1000m to avoid the heels of STARNOTION, which shifted in.

RACE 4: MACARTHUR COAL H'CAP - 1400M

CASTELOZOS was a late scratching at 8:40am. Trainer G PURDY was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to its next race start.

COOLANGATTA tended to over race at the 900m

RACE 5: AAMI CLASSIC H'CAP - 1400M

D CANNY the rider of MONGKE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that near the 150m he allowed his mount to shifted in when not clear of GOLD KARAM, resulting in GOLD KARAM being crowded on to HARLEY, causing both horses to be checked. D CANNY was suspended for a period of 3 meetings, to commence at midnight on Saturday, 14 September 2002, and expires at midnight on Friday, 27 September 2002

KOSICE pulled up lame in the near fore fetlock. Trainer M LEE was advised that he would require a veterinary certificate prior to its next race start.

RACE 6: CARLTON DRAUGHT AMATEUR H'CAP - 2100M

CLOSING TIME was slow in to stride, then when leaving the 1500m tended to over race.

RACE 7: LIFE MEMBERS H'CAP - 900M

Leaving the 400m KEPPEL LAIR had to be steadied to avoid the heels of JESTARELLA BOY which shifted in. N PAINE, the rider of JESTARELLA BOY, was severely reprimanded.

D CANNY, the rider of SKY NYMPH, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that near the 200m he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of KEPPEL LAIR, resulting in KEPPEL LAIR hitting the fence and being checked. D CANNY was suspended from riding in races for a period of 5 meeting to be served concurrently with a suspension imposed in race 5 with the penalty to expire at midnight on Saturday 5 October 2002.

NISTELROY jumped out at the start and made heavy contact with BRENDY BOY, which in turn was taken out onto SHATTERSTAR, which became unbalanced.

GOSSIP QUEEN was slow away.

NISTELROY raced ungenerously in the early stages and near the 1400m shifted out abruptly and hampered SHATTERSTAR.

Rounding the home turn P.Williams the rider of NISTELROY accidentally struck D.Lloyd the rider of BUSTAWAY over the arm with the whip.

Race 2 Commerce QLD Class 4 Hcp 1500m.

TOP MOVE, LIGHTFOOT TANGO, MAISON BUSTE and OBSTRUCTION were slow away.

LIGHTFOOT TANGO was trapped wide throughout.

Near the 1300m LIGHTFOOT TANGO was briefly tightened for room between MAISON BUSTE and WILCROW both of which shifted ground.

Race 3 Palandri Wines Open Hcp 1500m.

M.Young the rider of HEAVENLY CID became indisposed and was replaced by R.Pujolas.

GLOWING PROFIT was slow away.

Race 4 Darren Jennings-AMP Financial Planning Class 2 Hcp 1250m

D.Cash replaced M.Young on TOUGH AS NAILS.

ON HIS OWN was slow away.

Near the 1000m TOUGH AS NAILS shifted in and tightened the running of PROPELLOR.

MUSLIN was inclined to lay in over the concluding stages and close to the line inconvenienced PROPELLOR.

Race 5 Austbelt Class 6 Hcp 1250m.

P.Williams replaced M.Young on IRISH WINGS.

MORGAN'S GREY was slow away.

IRISH WINGS struck the running rail approaching the 400m.

Race 6 Dowdens Pumping Class 1 Hcp 1050m.

W.Binder replaced M.Young on ABUZZ.

Inside the 600m EYE CATCHING was briefly tightened for room by RAELAD, which shifted in.

When questioned over the performance of CONEEDA jockey Ms. J.Pujolas stated that the mare was very timid in the run especially when she attempted to improve to the inside of BRAVEBAUM in the early stages. She also stated that the mare seemed to resent the fill being thrown back in its face but nevertheless was disappointed with its performance. A post race vet inspection failed to reveal any abnormalities.

When questioned over the performance of BRAVEBAUM jockey D.Lloyd stated that the mare felt uncomfortable in the shifty going on the fence in the early stages and struggled to make any headway until straightening for the run home. He also stated that the mare felt like she needed more ground.

All winners were sent to be swabbed.

RACE 1: RIGHT VIBES H'CAP - 2118M.

In the early stages, COMMAND THE WIND pulled hard when being restrained off the heels of VICTORY RANGER.

Passing the winning post on the first occasion, KUTISHA'S BOY shifted in, taking RAFFUTE in on to PRINCE HAL, resulting in ICY PRIDE having to be momentarily tightened for room when taken on to the hind quarters of COMMAND THE WIND.

Near the 1600m., RAFFUTE became unbalanced when steadying off the heels of VICTORY RANGER. PRINCE HAL, which was following, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of RAFFUTE.

When attempting to improve to the outside of the heels of VICTORY RANGER near the 500m., COMMAND THE WIND made contact with RAFFUTE on a number of occasions. R. Hurley, rider of COMMAND THE WIND, was issued with a reprimand and advised that in future he must be fully clear before shifting ground.

RACE 2: SHIFT ALONG H'CAP - 1400M.

AUTUMN HABIT, which was found to have sustained minor abrasions to the off hip on arrival at the track, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and passed fit to start.

No racing incidents.

RACE 3:SHAIL H'CAP - 1200M.

As B. Stewart was to be overweight, S. Galloway was substituted as the rider of WINNING FRIENDS, D. Tanti as the rider of COPPER COIN (Race 4), and A. Spiteri as the rider of WITH MY (Race 7). B. Stewart was fined the sum of $300.

As S. Katsidis was to be overweight, G. Baker was substituted as the rider of MAGIC OF MACKAY. S. Katsidis was fined the sum of $200.

MAGIC OF MACKAY was slow to begin.

RIVIERA TREASURE jumped awkwardly.
CAPICE was obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages.

Near the 150m., LAKSA had to be restrained to avoid the heels of SEAHAWK LASS, which shifted out. M. Gray, rider of SEAHAWK LASS, was advised to exercise more care in future when shifting ground.

A veterinary examination of WINNING FRIENDS following the event revealed the mare to have sustained a laceration to the off fore cannon.

RACE 4: SCOMELD H'CAP - 1600M.

PAPA'S DREAM pulled hard in the early stages.

COPPER COIN had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the straight.

COSMIC COMET was unable to obtain clear running over the concluding stages.

RACE 5: 2002 APPRENTICES' CUP - 1200M.

Near the 800m, EMPYREAN shifted out and made contact with SLEEPY POET.

RACE 6: MACHETE H'CAP - 1500M.

S. Katsidis was examined by the club's doctor after riding in race 4 and stood down from his remaining engagements. The following riding substitutions were approved: Race 6. SAMMY - S. Galloway; Race 7. FINAL DEMAND - B. Stewart; Race 8. WEAISHE - G. Duffy.

SHA ALMA jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

After leaving the 400m., HUGE YEAR shifted out, making contact with SAMMY, taking that gelding out on to SHA ALMA.

A veterinary examination of CRACKERJACK'S HOPE revealed the gelding to have pulled up lame in the off fore foot.

RACE 7: ISVESITA QTIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP - 1400M.

The starter reported that the tongue-tie on WESTERN SUCCESS was unable to be fastened on that filly and as a result was loaded without that gear.

JUST AMAZON jumped awkwardly.

FLASH VALENTINE shifted in at the start, taking THIS SHOOD CLICK in on to CROWN REGATTA.

LOS GATOS shifted out on jumping away and made contact with WITH MY.

Shortly after the start, MARDI GRAS shifted in, tightening DANTIBES' TREASURE in on to , MIGHTY ICON, which had to be steadied. Z. Purton, rider of MARDI GRAS, was reprimanded and advised to be fully clear when shifting ground.

When questioned in relation to the disappointing performance of FINAL DEMAND, B. Stewart stated that on straightening he was momentarily inconvenienced by FLASH VALENTINE, which shifted out. however when placed under pressure in the straight, the gelding failed to respond to his riding.A veterinary examination of FINAL DEMAND failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 8: BEN THE BUCKS' H'CAP - 1000M.

MAJORETTE jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

OUR MICK shifted out at the start and made contact with DONTA BATDY.

Approaching the 800m., ELECTRICITY had to be steadied when briefly tightened for room between MISS MARTINDALE and DONTA BATDY, which was taken in by IRON ORE.

MAJORETTE made the crossing awkwardly at the 600m..

Both WEAISHE and ELECTRICITY were obliged to race wide making the home turn.

Near the 200m., MISS MARTINDLE had to be steadied to avoid the heels of MAJORETTE, which shifted out. A. Spiteri, rider of MAJORETTE, was advised to exercise more care.

ALL WINNERS AND QUALO WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.

KID DE LAGO jumped in at the start and tightened SKILFUL RULER on to MR CHIPS.

PADDY'S PROMISE jumped away awkwardly.

M Gatt, the rider of LIMIT NO LOOK, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that approaching the 1,000m he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear causing SKILFUL RULER to be taken in on to NOT OVER resulting in SKILFUL RULER having to be checked. M Gatt was suspended for a period to be advised.

Approaching the 700m NOT OVER raced up on to and had to be steadied off the heels of DASH ON RUBY.

RACE 2: DUX LIGHTING AGENCIES H'CAP - 1800M.

Approaching the first turn when being restrained, GABIETTE shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its rider. This resulted in AMAZIN' GRACE having to be checked after being forced on to the hind quarters of OF ARABIA. OF ARABIA in turn was taken wider on the track which resulted in ACTIVE REST being hampered. In this incident BIDDADDABA which was following also had to be steadied off the heels of GABIETTE.

TONGUE LASHING was obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages.

Approaching the 700m GABIETTE, when racing ungenerously, shifted out resulting in BIDDADDABA having to be steadied to avoid that runner's heels.

RACE 3: NEUMANN ASSOCIATE COMPANIES H'CAP - 1200M.

OLD SCOTCH was slow to begin.

PADDY'S VENTURE jumped out at the start and crowded EAGLE SCOUT on to MAGICAL MADDIE.

Approaching the first turn MR. MORIARTI and STOLL MOSS both shifted in and struck the running rail. MR. MORIARTI shifted in inside the 500m and again struck the running rail. Inside the final 200m MR. MORIARTI again commenced to lay in which resulted in its rider not being able to fully test his mount over the concluding stages.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of OLD SCOTCH, A Best was at a loss to explain the colt's poor performance other than that it would not respond to his riding at any stage during the race. A post race veterinary examination of OLD SCOTCH revealed a scalping wound to the near hind pastern.

RACE 4: CONCEPT SYSTEMS INTERNATIONAL H'CAP (CLASS 6) - 1400M.

Trainer Mr Greg Ryan was fined the sum of $50 for late notification of rider for GASOLINE.

VOLCANIC HURRAH jumped away awkwardly.

Approaching the 900m MALTESE PAPIA commenced to throw its head in the air, hung out and as a result failed to negotiate the first turn. MALTESE PAPIA shifted out abruptly and made heavy contact with GASOLINE forcing that runner wider on the track. The gelding continued to hang out and placed its rider at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event. Trainer S PHELPS was advised that he must barrier trial MALTESE PAPIA prior to its next race start.

RACE 5: NEWSTAR SERVICE CENTRE H'CAP (COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES CLASS 1) - 1200M.

THAT'S CANNY was slow to begin.

COSTELLO jumped away awkwardly.

Rounding the home turn until inside the 250m EARLWAY was held up for clear running.

Approaching the 150m EARLWAY shifted in under pressure and made contact with REPOSSESSION which in turn shifted in momentarily hampering COSTELLO.

RACE 6: QUEENSLAND CURTAIN COMPANY H'CAP (FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 1) - 1200M.

JESTER FLIGHT was slow to begin

CONNIE'S PROSPECT and CANTANTES were obliged to race wide in the early and middle stages.

S Campton (AT LAST) was reminded of his obligation to fully test his mounts out to the end of the race.

A post race veterinary examination of AT LAST failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 7: CURRUMBIN LANDSCAPING SUPPLIES H'CAP - 1300M.

JAILHOUSE ROCK jumped out at the start crowding TELL DARCY on to A THOUSAND DEGREES.

Approaching the 300m A THOUSAND DEGREES shifted in under pressure and made contact with TELL DARCY.

A post race veterinary examination of JAILHOUSE ROCK failed to reveal any abnormality.

KHAADESH lost its off fore plate in running.

RACE 8: H'CAP - OWENS' METAL ROOFING PROFESSIONALS HANDICAP (CLASS 2) - 1800M.

SPLENDID DEBUT was slow to begin.

For some distance after entering the home straight KING'S CONCERT and ADVICE were unable to obtain clear running.

Inside the 300m PROUD ASCOT which was tiring, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of NOBLE MOSES which shifted in under pressure.

Race 1: I. Coombes replaced T. Hill as the rider of QUANDO, as T. Hill was delayed in arriving on course.

As Jockey J. Camilleri was unable to fulfil his engagements following an injury sustained on 12th September 2002, the following substitutions were approved: Race 1, Apprentice D. Ballard to ride RAPID ARCH; Race 3, R. Seymour to ride GRACETO STAR ; Race 4, A. Spradau to ride EXACTING; Race 5, I. Coombes to ride LUBERTUS; Race 6, Apprentice L. Attard to ride NO BONES.

RACE 1: MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1000 METRES

JENNIFER MARY, which had been fractious in the barriers, had its head down when the start was effected. When questioned, the starter said that he was unable to see JENNIFER MARY. In the opinion of the stewards JENNIFER MARY was not afforded a fair start and was therefore declared a non-runner. Stewards ordered that all bets made on JENNIFER MARY be refunded in full and that all successful bets made with bookmakers be subject to the following deductions in the dollar from the face value of the tickets: win 13¢, place 12¢. Connections were advised that JENNIFER MARY will be required to barrier trial to the satisfaction of stewards before being permitted to race again.

NOBLE SCHOLAR began awkwardly.

RACE 2: CLASS 6 HANDICAP - 1000 METRES

Making the home turn VAIN VIRGINIAN hung out.

RACE 3: CLASS 2 HANDICAP - 1400 METRES

When questioned about the reason for ASPEN RACER being withdrawn after the prescribed declaration time trainer Mr M. Currin said that he had sent a fax to the Club advising of the scratching, however this was not located until after scratching time. The explanation of Mr Currin was accepted.

In the early stages and again on the home turn CANARY attempted to hang out. The trainer of CANARY was advised to take corrective measures to overcome the problem.

RACE 4: OPEN HANDICAP - 1200 METRES

There were no racing incidents.

RACE 5: CLASS 4 HANDICAP - 1200 METRES

MIGHTY BABU reared as the gates opened.

RACE 6: CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 800 METRES

There were no racing incidents.

GENERAL:

Apprentice L. Attard was fined $50 for negligently failing to produce his winning rides book when requested by the stewards (AR.8(e)).

RACE 1: SHUBERTS MAIDEN H'CAP - 800m

WYUNA BABE, which broke through the barriers prior to the start being affected, was quickly under control and after being inspected by the clubs vet was past fit to start.

WYUNA BABE and NAVARRA EXPRESS were both slow to begin.

Upon returning to scale Jockey J Starr reported that, in his opinion, the winner KASHMIR MAGIC was sore. After a vet inspection it was reported that the mare was sore in the off fore tendon and was subsequently treated for this injury.

RACE 2: PRIMAC ELDERS & Q GAP CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1000m

CLIPS and DAME FRISKY were both slow to begin.

COLOSSUS raced fiercely from the 800m to the home turn, where it then commenced to hang.

RACE 3: WATTLE BRAE STUD FORMOSA DOWNS & NELLYBRI BUSHRANGER LEGEND CLASS 4 H'CAP - 1000m

IGNASSI jumped awkwardly and was slowly into stride.

ROCKET RANGE struck the running rail whilst racing in restricted room at the 750m.

RACE 4: MOSAIC OIL SURAT CUP CLASS 3 H'CAP - 1400m

SIR WINTERWOOD, CAPTAIN RHETT and TANZARA were all slow to begin.

CAPTAIN RHETT pulled hard from the 800m until the home turn.

RACE 5: NEW ROYAL HOTEL OPEN H'CAP - 1400m

Both TELESIO and FLYING FEATHERS were slowly into stride.

FLYING FEATHERS raced wide from the 600m until straightening.

RACE 6: SUNCORP METWAY CLASS 5 H'CAP - 1200m

INTERMANIA was barred to a barrier jump out after the gelding stood flatfooted when the start was affected.

SKINNERS REVENGE was slowly into stride.

Trainer Lynton Merrick was kicked in the left arm in the enclosure by another runner, was transported by ambulance to the hospital for x-rays.

AZURE TWIST jumped out and SOMEPORO jumped in at the start crowding ARDRITZ, DELTIC PARK and LE COUP.

HIGHLAND FLING raced green throughout the race.

K Rockett, the rider of SOMEPORO, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that near the 900m he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of AZURE TWIST, causing that horse to be checked. K ROCKETT was suspended from riding in races for a period of 3 meetings to commence at midnight on Saturday, 14 September 2002, and expires at midnight on Friday, 27 September 2002.

K PENROSE, the rider of ARDRITZ was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that near the 150m she permitted her mount to shift in when not clear of KAI TAK, resulting in that horse being tightened for room and having to be restrained. K PENROSE was suspended from riding in races for a period of 2 meetings to commence at midnight on Saturday, 14 September 2002, and expires at midnight on Sunday, 22 September 2002.

RACE 2: CAIRNS POST H'CAP - 1250M

EYE GEE AYE was slow in to stride.

LITTLE BULLA SPUR jumped out making contact with LORD JEUNE at the start.

MYCLASE was inclined to lay out on the 900m.

RACE 3: QUICKSILVER H'CAP - 1400M

Acting on a report from trainer R CHILLEMI who indicated that CYBERPORT had suffered a cut to his mouth, the gelding was examined by the Vet and passed fit to start.

AL MAHA jumped awkwardly at the start resulting in his rider D CROSSLAND to lose his right iron.

MISCHA got her head in the air at the 900m then shifted in making heavy contact with the running rail.

MR HEALEY shifted in over concluding stages of race making minor contact with REBEL REBEL.

Leaving the 1200m AL MAHA shifted in, crowding CYBERPORT and STRICTLY JACK. D CROSSLAND, the rider of AL MAHA was reprimanded.

RACE 4: BRADKEN BANGLE H'CAP - 1000M

Trainer J BELL failed to scratch KATIE JUGAH from this event by the advertised scratching time, Ms Bell was fined the sum of $100.00.

CHART THE STARS and BALDRICK came together at the start.

RACE 5: GOVERNOR'S TROPHY H'CAP - 1250M

DARTBROOK KING and TALE OF TRIOMPHE shifted in over concluding stages of race.

RACE 6: THIESS/SIR SYDNEY WILLIAMS, OBE TROPHY H'CAP - 1000M

There was a delay with correct weight as stewards had to consult with the judge over the result of first place. Stewards endorsed the judges decision to declare NEWSWORTHY and WILDIE as dead heaters for 1st placing.

MANNDO once placed in the barrier, reared dislodging the rider J CAIRNS. MANNDO was inspected by vet and passed fit to race. J CAIRNS was examined by ambulance officer and passed fit to ride.

As a result of the delay in declaring the result of this event the starting time of race 7 was put back 15 mins to 4:40pm. Race 8 was put back 10 mins to 5:10pm.

RACE 7: E.W.T. BEDMINSTER H'CAP - 1250M

SINOWIN shifted out over concluding stages of race.

D BRADBERY, the rider of INVESTITURE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that near the 1000m he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of CRAFTY LAD, taking that horse in on to MONO BLUE, resulting in MONO BLUE being checked. D BRADBERY was suspended for a period of 3 meetings to commence at midnight on Saturday, 14 September 2002, and expires at midnight on FRIDAY, 27 September 2002.

RACE 8: WAIRUNA H'CAP - 1400M

As M CULLEN was indisposed, A MOLINO was substituted as the rider of TRIDEKA.

CELESTIAL GLORY was held up for clear running in the early stages of race.
