Stewards questioned App DW Ballard, Jockey A Spradau and Jockey Ms D Slack-Smith in regards to an incident approaching the 250 metre mark when SWIVEL obtained a run to the inside of SONGMAKER. After considering all the evidence submitted, viewing of the patrol film footage of the incident and on their own observations, Stewards decided to take no further action due to the conflicting nature of the evidence submitted and the poor quality of the patrol film footage of the incident.

A thorough veterinary examination by the Club Veterinary Surgeon failed to reveal any abnormalities. As the horse had not shown any traits of this nature previously, Stewards placed only a warning on the horse in regards to its racing manners, but advised connections that a repeat simular to to-day would see an embargo being placed on the horse.

RACE 4:. WEIGHT FOR AGE - 1450 METRES

Stewards granted the connections of THE INSPECTOR approval to change from the declared rider, L Critoph to C Rixon due to a misunderstanding in both riders being dually booked for the horse. The wet weather in Queensland which forced much of yesterday's Goldmarket meeting on the Gold Coast to be abandoned has struck again.

A decision was made this afternoon by stewards and officials that tomorrow's Beaudesert meeting would not go ahead.

Heavy rain has been falling through much of southern Queensland over the past two days.

Brisbane for instance has had no less than 50 millimetres of rain since yesterday morning. The weather is expected to clear, although Saturday's track is expected to be significantly rain affected.
