GENERAL: Trainer A. Bailey was fined $50 for entering TELESIO for Race 2, the J.M. Kelly (Project Builders) H'cap (Class 6) when ineligible.

RACE 1: YEAR OF THE OUTBACK H'CAP - 2100M.

The saddle on OUT YONDER shifted forward near the 1600m., which placed its rider, M. Dracos, at a disadvantage for the remainder of the event.

RACE 2: J M KELLY (PROJECT BUILDERS) H'CAP - 1600M.

MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH made the 600m. crossing awkwardly.

Over the concluding stages, K. Pope was unable to fully test MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH due to that gelding hanging in under pressure.

RACE 3: PARUPS WARING ARCHITECTS H'CAP - 1200M.

I USED TO DREAM and POTESTAS were slow to begin.

Approaching the first turn, TALBINGO LAD had to be steadied when cramped for room by BLAZE A FORTUNE, which in turn received some pressure from FIRES OF IRELAND, which at this stage was obliged to shift in to avoid the heels of ICY GRIP. B. Swanton, rider of ICY GRIP, was reprimanded and reminded of his obligations to provide at least 2 lengths clearance when shifting ground.

Inside the 200m., BLAZE A FORTUNE and ICY GRIP were both hampered when cramped for room between PRECIFIC and POTESTAS, both of which shifted ground under pressure. C. Reith and K. Pope, the respective riders of PRECIFIC and POTESTAS, were cautioned and urged to make more effort to keep their mounts on a straight course.

Jockey A. Lane was fined $50 for leaving the course without a clearance from stewards.

RACE 4: COPY PRINT XPRESS QTIS ADDED STAKES H'CAP - 1200M.

After beginning awkwardly, BILLY JARRAH lost further ground soon after the start when cramped for room between CROWN REGATTA and CALL THE HUNTER.

For some distance after leaving the 800m., PROUDLY AGRO had to be restrained off the heels of SWAK.

G. Colless reported that PENOLA was inclined to lay out in the middle stages.

For some distance after passing the 100m., BLAZING DANCER was held up behind RORY'S NORTH, which commenced to lose ground.

After riding BLAZING DANCER in this event, P. Hammersley was examined by the club's doctor and stood down from his remaining engagements. D. Evans was substituted as the rider of KILAMANJARO in race 5. Stewards permitted senior rider S. Katsidis to take the mount on HASS LINC in race 6 as no other apprentice was available who could take advantage of a portion of their allowance. M. Rodd was substituted as the rider of OUR MR. POMPEII in race 7.

RACE 5: ST MARGARET'S AGS EXHIBITION H'CAP - 1800M.

The club's veterinary surgeon reported that KILAMANJARO was found to have bled from both nostrils following the event. As this was the second occasion on which the gelding had bled, KILAMANJARO will now incur a lifetime bar from racing. A swab sample was taken from KILAMANJARO.

RACE 6: NORRIS MOTOR GROUP H'CAP - 1400M.

As G. Colless was to be overweight, M. Pelling was substituted as the rider of LAKSA. G. Colless was fined $100.

As the start was effected, LAKSA reared and lost considerable ground. Trainer K. Connell was advised that LAKSA must pass a further barrier test prior to its next race start.

CORPORATE jumped outwards at the start, taking EMMA READY out on to PITTERAC, which was hampered.

B. Stewart, rider of KAAPBET, accidentally dropped his whip approaching the 200m..

RACE 7: SSSL SPOTLESS SERVICES H'CAP - 1200M.

On jumping away, MALLET lost ground when tightened for room between CEFFYL and LUNCHTIME LEGEND.

On several occasions in the early stages of the straight, LUNCHTIME LEGEND made contact with the hind quarters of KRULEWSKI when attempting to obtain clear running.

When OUTBREAK shifted out to obtain clear running at the 200m., PAST BLAST was taken out on to PELT, which in turn caused some inconvenience to KRULEWSKI.

PELT was obliged to race wide throughout the event.

RACE 8: FUJI XEROX H'CAP - 1200M.

As A. Pattillo was indisposed, M. Rodd was substituted as the rider of MERKABA.

Approaching the 800m., REGAL GENTLEMAN was momentarily tightened for room by KING SHALFORD, which shifted in slightly.

Nearing the 300m., DEVIL made contact with PELECANOS when shifting out from behind FOREVER AMEN to obtain clear running.

At the 100m., FOREVER AMEN, which had a tendency to lay out, had to be steadied to avoid the heels of DEVIL, which shifted in under pressure. S. Campton, rider of DEVIL, was cautioned for failing to make sufficient effort to keep his mount on a straight course.

KING SHALFORD and REGAL GENTLEMAN were both obliged to race wide during the event.

ALL WINNERS AND KILAMANJARO WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.

RACE 1: CAIRNS INTERNATIONAL HOTEL MAIDEN H'CAP - 1000M

DELTIC PARK and EYE GEE AYE were slow into stride.

Approaching the home turn DELTIC PARK shifted out coming into contact with BIKINI LOVE causing that horse to be unbalanced. D Crossland, rider of DELTIC PARK, was reprimand.

After leaving the 250m STARFORME which was tiring shifted out causing JACOBS CREEK to be eased off his heels.

RACE 2: SOUTHERN CROSS TEN H'CAP - 1200M

On return to scale J Cairns suffered an asthma attack and was treated by ambulance officers and past fit to ride.

CASTELOZOS slow into stride then shortly after attempted to buck. Took no further part in race. Trainer G Purdy was advised that CASTELOZOS would require an official barrier trial prior to renominating.

RACE 3: SEA FM H'CAP - 1500M


After being loaded MAGIC RUNNER became fractious in the barriers and reared and got front legs over adjoining stall. Vet inspected MAGIC RUNNER and past fit to start. Trainer R Chillemi was advised that MAGIC RUNNER would require a barrier certificate prior to renominating.

After leaving the 1300m SONDRA was inclined to lay out making heavy contact with IRISH REIGN.

EARLY BRIGHT inclined to over race approaching the 1200m getting its head up in the air.

On the home turn CLANDENT was held up for clear running.


RACE 4: CARLTON DRAUGHT H'CAP -1730M

KLOCCO was slow into stride and made the first corner awkwardly.

After leaving the 300m CRAFTY CAROUSEL had to be eased off the heels of KLOCCO, which shifted out momentarily.

MOLLIE shifted out under pressure over concluding stages .

RACE 5: CAIRNS JOCKEY CLUB H'CAP -1000M

LLOYD and MOWBRAY PARK were slow into stride.

After leaving the 150m ARRISTA shifted out and SNAZZY JO shifted in causing MOWBRAY PARK to be steadied off there heels.

RACE 6:LIGHTNING H'CAP -1000M

Acting on a report from trainer R Chillemi who indicated that HE'S UNFORGETTABLE was lame in front, HE'S UNFORGETTABLE was a late scratching at 2.00 p.m. acting on vets advice.

After leaving the 350m HARLEY shifted out making heavy contact with SPACE PRINCE.

At 250m GOLD KARAM shifted out slightly inconveniencing ETRE ACCORDE.

MOONLIGHTER was inclined to hang out on the home turn.

RACE 7: COUNTRY RACING AUSTRALIA CONFERENCE NEWMARKET CUP -1400M

After leaving the 900m AVIARA shifted out causing BLACKLOCK to be steadied off the heels of MONARBER.

EMINENT CHEVAL shifted in approaching the winning post inconveniencing SOVEREIGN RODE.

RACE 8: CANNON PARK H'CAP -1400M

Shortly after leaving the start OUR WILLPOWER was inclined to lay in making contact with VARMINT, at the same time GATES shifted out making contact with VARMINT causing that horse to be eased.

GENERAL - Stewards finalised an adjourned inquiry into the reason why
Apprentice L.Attard failed to attend the Stamford Race Club meeting on
Saturday 27/07/02 which lead to the late scratching of MISS TUI due to a
lack of riders. Apprentice Attard pleaded guilty to a charge under Local
Rule 51 (1) and had his licence to ride in races suspended for 4 weeks to
commence at midnight on Thursday 8th of August 2002 and to expire at
midnight on Thursday the 5th of September 2002.

Race 1 XXXX Class 1 Hcp 1500m 7 Strs.

No racing incidents.

Race 2 AE Smith Class 4 Hcp 1250m 9 Strs.

CHLOELLA, which was fractious in the barriers, was a late scratching at
1.37pm on vet's advice after it suffered lacerations to both hind legs. All
bets on CHLOELLA are to be refunded and deductions of 13c the win and 12c
the place on the face value of winning tickets were declared. Trainer W.Pomfrett was advised that CHLOELLA would be required to obtain a
barrier certificate prior to starting again.

MORGAN'S GREY was slow away.

ITALIAN EXPRESS got its head up and over raced in the early stages.

TOP MOVE was restrained off the heels of PRIDE OF SEQUALO near the 600m and
was briefly held up for clear running soon after straightening.

MORGAN'S GREY was inclined to hang in down the home straight and had to be
straightened on several occasions.

Race 3 Central QLD Mining Supplies Open Hcp 1250m 9 Strs.

JAAZEIRO and FRENCH HALO made contact at the start.

REGAL DEMON was inclined to hang in for the majority of the event and near
the 700m had to be restrained off the heels of POWER PACK, which shifted
out.

REGAL DEMON was held up for clear running for the most of the home straight.

When questioned over the performance of REGAL DEMON and also his ride on the
gelding particularly between the 700m and the 300m Jockey W.Binder stated
that REGAL DEMON again wanted to hang in as it was inclined to do at its
previous start in Mackay and that near the 700m POWER PACK had shifted out
in front of him and rather than get pushed too wide around the corner
elected to go back to the fence and save ground. He also stated that when he
wanted to shift to the outside soon after straightening was unable to force
a run when POWER PACK held its ground and was obliged to shift back in to
seek a run. In this incident W.Binder claimed that REGAL DEMON was
accidentally hit over the head on two occasions by the whip of App. L.Attard
the rider of POWER PACK. Trainer R.Adair stated that REGAL DEMON is looking
for more ground and that he elected to start in today's event as there are
no more suitable races in the following two weeks leading up to the Amateur
carnivals in Townsville and Cairns. He also felt that REGAL DEMON might be
suffering some sort of chiropractic problem with its neck, which is why it
has wanted to hang in. Both explanations were noted. A post race vet
examination of REGAL DEMON failed to reveal any abnormalities.

M.Attard the trainer of POWER PACK reported that the gelding had injured its
near side eye after being hit with a clod of dirt.

Race 4 TF Woolam Maiden Hcp 1050m 10 Strs.

Jockey R.Mules was reprimanded for weighing out without his safety vest.

I'M COMFY was slow away.

GINJOS had to be straightened by its rider L.Attard on several occasions
over the concluding stages when it wanted to hang in.

WHAT PRICE FUN was held up over the concluding stages.

When questioned over the performance of I'M COMFY which tailed off and
finished a long last Jockey R.Pujolas could offer no explanation other than
he felt the mare may have resented sand fill coming back into its face in
the early stages. Trainer N.Perry stated that the mare suffered from shin
soreness early on in its career and appeared to not have come up this
preparation. Mr Perry stated that I'M COMFY would be retired. A post race
vet examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Race 5 Shakespeare International Class 2 Hcp 1050m 8 Strs.

Trainer M.Attard was fined $25 for presenting BRIER COURT in the mounting
enclosure with the incorrect gear.

BRIER COURT was slow away.

BROWN EAGLE blundered soon after jumping.

Race 6 New Season Class 6 Hcp 1050m 9 Strs.

MR SLEEPY jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

WHEELAWAY was unable to obtain clear running from the 300m until the 200m.


All winners were sent to be swabbed.

RACE 1: clearmountainstud.com.au THREE YEARS OLD MAIDEN H'CAP - 1025m.

WOODSON was slow to begin.

Approaching the 100m., HOPE TO GLORY shifted in, resulting in TAKE YOUR LEAVE having to be momentarily steadied. Apprentice L. Fitzsimmons was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care.

Trainer L. Birchley's representative Mr R. Stenhouse and apprentice C. Browne were questioned regarding the riding tactics adopted on WOODSON throughout the race. Mr Stenhouse stated that at its most recent start, the gelding began quickly, however overraced and was inclined to hang out throughout the event. He added that in view of this performance, he had instructed apprentice Browne not to bustle WOODSON out of the barriers and to settle the horse with cover on the rails until straightening. Apprentice Browne confirmed the instructions, adding that he was held up for clear running for some distance inside the 300m., and that near the 150m., he lost ground and had to check the gelding after WOODSON pulled its way up inside the heels of the leader where there was insufficient room, and that from this point he was unable to fully test his mount for the remainder of the event. The explanations were noted.

RACE 2: burwoodstud.com FILLIES AND MARES CLASS 2 H'CAP - 1025M.

LAUREN EMILY shifted in at the start, making contact with CABARU QUEEN.

OODLES 'N' OODLES raced wide throughout the event.

M. Rodd reported that on pulling up LAUREN EMILY struck its head on the running rail. The club's veterinary surgeon reported that LAUREN EMILY had sustained a laceration to the off-side nostril.

RACE 3: lyndhurststud.com ENTIRES AND GELDINGS CLASS 2 H'CAP - 1025M.

Rounding the home turn, GOLD AMBER, when attempting to improve, had to be steadied off the heels of RAFSO.

MAN ON A MISSION and ZOE'S LAD raced wide throughout the event.

Trainer G. Heinrich reported that POWER BREAK was in a distressed condition on return to its stable. G. Heinrich was advised that she would be required to produce a veterinary clearance for POWER BREAK prior to its next race start.

Trainer K. Hansen reported that MAN ON A MISSION lost its near fore shoe in running.

RACE 4: raheenstud.com MAIDEN H'CAP - 1700M.

SOBROTH was tightened for room at the start between PEAK EVEREST and SIR KWILA, both of which shifted ground.

SOBROTH had to be steadied off the heels of the tiring PEAK EVEREST approaching the 200m..

RACE 5: greenvalepark.com.au CLASS 1 H'CAP - 1520M.

CLASSIC PARK shifted out at the start, making contact with OXFORD BELLE, which in turn bumped GO CREOLE.

AIRGUN jumped awkwardly and shifted out, hampering BROTHER BORRELLI.

SPLENDID DEBUT threw its head up at the start and lost considerable ground.

Near the 500m., OXFORD BELLE shifted out to improve, resulting in BLOKOVO having to be steadied. In this incident, BLOKOVO shifted out and made contact with AIRGUN, which was forced wider on the track. G. Baker, rider of OXFORD BELLE, was reprimanded and reminded of his responsibilities to be fully clear before shifting ground.

L. Cook, rider of RUNYON BEAUTY, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding, in that she permitted her mount to shift in leaving the 400m. when insufficiently clear of BROTHER BORRELLI, resulting in that gelding having to be checked. L. Cook was suspended from riding in races for a period covered by 6 meetings, to commence at midnight, 11 August, and to expire at midnight, 21 August 2002. In assessing penalty, stewards took into account L. Cook's good race riding record.

When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of AIRGUN, R. Hurley stated he could offer no explanation other than the gelding was caught wide throughout the event and sustained minor interference near the 500m.. He added that after placing the gelding under pressure after being pushed wider on the home turn, AIRGUN failed to run on in the straight. Trainer's representative B. Deacon stated that the gelding had worked well leading into today's event and was unable to offer other explanation for the disappointing performance. B. Deacon undertook to advise stewards of any abnormality which may become apparent with AIRGUN in the days following the event. A veterinary examination of AIRGUN, which performed disappointingly, failed to reveal any abnormality.

A veterinary examination of BROTHER BORRELLI revealed the horse to have broken down in the off fore fetlock.

RACE 6: furlongstud.com.au - MAIDEN H'CAP - 1100M.

QUAVI struck its head in the barriers prior to the start. A veterinary examination of QUAVI subsequent to the event revealed blood in its off side nostril.

QUAVI reared at the start and lost ground.

ZED HO was slow to begin.

SUERAY blundered badly on jumping away.

HADRIAN hung out severely rounding the home turn. Mr M. Hawkes, foreman for trainer J. Hawkes, was advised that the gelding would be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial prior to its next race start.

PLUSH SPLENDOUR was held up for clear running for the entire straight.

RACE 7: riversidestud.com CLASS 3 H'CAP - 2150M.

PADILAD, which finished a distant last, was examined by the club's veterinary surgeon and found to be suffering from heart arrythmia. Trainer G. Heinrich was advised that PADILAD would be required to trial satisfactorily, and the results of an ECG and veterinary certificate forwarded to stewards prior to its next race start.

RACE 8: justracing.com.au - CLASS 5 H'CAP - 1025M.

The connections of WANCHAI LADY were advised that the horse's nomination would be refused until he is in possession of the Document of Description.

Approaching the 700m., CREDENTIALS had to be steadied as a result of HELLUM shifting in momentarily. A veterinary examination of CREDENTIALS following the event revealed the mare to have sustained a minor laceration to the near fore knee.

ALDERNITI LAD was obliged to race wide throughout.

GENERAL - Jockey R. Hancock advised Stewards at 11.00am he sustained an injury to his ankle after being dislodged from a horse at track work at Deagon on the 3/08/02. Jockey Hancock was requested to present a Doctors Certificate to Stewards before riding again. As R. Hancock was indisposed, he was replaced by M. Crawford on CITI BLAZE (race 2).

RACE 1: MAIDEN HANDICAP - 1090M

The stable representative for trainer Mr. T. Miller, Mr. S. Baker was advised a warning was placed on BODGIE'S REGRET as the horse was difficult to load. BODGIE'S REGRET (J. Hoopert) jumped awkwardly taking PIG ON THE SPIT (App M. Rice) out onto RED HALI (D. Gill) which resulted in RED HALI receiving pressure between PIG ON THE SPIT and MAJOR PAGE (P. Lindeberg). Approaching the 850 metre mark, BODGIE'S REGRET shifted ground and made contact with RED HALI.

RACE 2: CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 1212M

K. Hill (BELSHAZZAR) was advised the horse is not permitted to race until the papers are in order. PERONNEL (W. Schmidt) threw its head on jumping away and lost ground. The winner TOP BOWL was swabbed.

RACE 3: CLASS 3 HANDICAP - 1380M

MARKET WATCH (A. Morrison) dwelt at the start. SUNKEN (App H. O'Hara) received pressure between CAWDOR (App M. Rice) and SHADEAL PRINCE (App S. Galvin) on jumping away. As SUNKEN bled from both nostrils, it was banned from racing for 3 months (AR.53A). Due to a recent transfer of ownership, the Registration Papers were at the QTRB offices for endorsement.

RACE 4: BUNDABERG CUP - 1600M

RENFREW (App S Galvin) and LONG WAY TO RUN (A. Morrison) came together on jumping away. The winner TEKWILA was swabbed. A. Morrison was examined by the Ambulance Attendant and advised to stand down for his remaining ride. A medical clearance will be required before riding again.

RACE 5: TEN QUEENSLAND HINKLER LIGHTNING HCP - 1090M

Jockey M. Crawford replaced jockey A. Morrison as the rider of FLASH TUNE. FLASH TUNE returned to the enclosure with blood visible in both nostrils. Trainer Mr. A. Hess was instructed a mandatory 3 months ban from racing is placed on his horse (AR53A). FLASH TUNE was sent to be swabbed.

RACE 1: CLASS 5 HANDICAP - 900 METRES

Jockey L Critoph replaced M Campbell as the rider for FAST MARKET when M Campbell reported injured prior to the meeting. Jockey J Sheehan was dislodged from FINAL CLOSE shortly after leaving the saddling enclosure. Jockey J Sheehan was unhurt in the incident and FINAL CLOSE on inspection by the Club Veterinary Surgeon, was declared fit to race. REVANCHO was slow into stride.

RACE 2: CLASS 1 HANDICAP - 100 METRES

Jockey L Critoph replaced M Campbell as the rider for MA GRATTEN.
No incidents.

RACE 3: CLASS 6 PLATE - 1200 METRES

No incidents.

RACE 4: CLASS 3 PLATE - 1200 METRES

LEAD THE ACE was slow into stride. TRES CANNY stumbled and lost its footing shortly after the start. CLOCK RADIO refused to jump with the remainder of the field when a start was effected resulting in the horse loosing considerable ground. The horse's trainer Mr RW Ryder was advised by the Stewards that the horse would have to undergo a series of Barrier Tests to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to being permitted to start again, as per the terms of LR 36(b).

RACE 5: QUALITY HANDIAP - 1000 METRES

Jockey L Critoph replaced M Campbell as the rider for CHIEF BULLI. NONO became very fractious in the barriers and reared in the air on several occasions prior to the start. Both POWLETT MEWS and PROSPECTOR CHIEF lost ground at the start due to both horses being a fraction slow in stride. Jockey I Coombes reported that his mount NONO resented the sand being thrown back.

GENERAL
Jockey M Campbell was advised that he would have to furnish a medical clearance to the Stewards prior to riding again.

RACE 2: WARREGO CLASS 6 H'CAP - 1000m

INTERMANIA was slow to begin.

On return to scale a protest was lodged by J Starr the rider of the fourth placegetter RED BOY against second placegetter METAL KNIGHT for alleged interference over the concluding stages. After hearing evidence from all riders and connections the protest was dismissed and correct weight was given on the semaphored numbers.

At a subsequent inquiry it was found that SUMI PRINCESS was tightened for room between RED BOY and METAL KNIGHT, which rolled in apprentice C Wearne was reprimanded in this incident.

Approximately 50m after the winning post SUMI PRINCESS shied in and away from the horses to its' outside resulting in contact with the running rail which caused a deep wound to the horses off shoulder.

RACE 3: HARD TIMES MAIDEN H'CAP - 1200m

KINGSTON CHIEF and RETREAT'S BOUNTY made heavy contact on jumping.

COME ON CLYDE was slow to begin.

RACE 4: CLOUDLESS SKIES OPEN H'CAP - 1200m

MAKE NO MISTAKE was slow to begin.

PALACE GRANT jumped in at the start making contact with LARABIA.

Q.T.R.B. BRISBANE OFFICES - 5.8.02: The stewards today continued an inquiry into the analyst's findings in relation to the swab sample taken from TOUCH OF SANITY following that horse's participation at the Ipswich Turf Club meeting on Wednesday, 10 July 2002. At the initial hearing on Monday, 29 July 2002 and at today's hearing, evidence was taken from Ms Susan Searle, the owner and trainer of TOUCH OF SANITY, trainer Mr Colin Shorter and registered stablehand Mr Robert Blue.

Subsequently, trainer S. Searle pleaded guilty to being in breach of AR. 178 in that she presented TOUCH OF SANITY to race when the said horse was found to have had administered to it a prohibited substance, namely alkalising agents. This was evidenced by total carbon dioxide (TCO2) at a concentration greater than that prescribed by the Australian Rule of Racing.

Ms Searle was disqualified for a period of four months, with the term of disqualification to expire at midnight on 4 December 2002.

Although unplaced on the day in question, TOUCH OF SANITY was disqualified from the Striking Force Handicap, a Class 2 event, under the powers of AR. 177.

RACE 1: WOOLWORTHS H'CAP - 1650M

As A. Kennedy was ill, J. Taylor was substituted as the rider of KANANGA.

SILVERTHORNE was slow to begin.

Approaching the 1200m FLASHVILLE got its head up when being steadied to avoid the heels of RANSOM NOTE which shifted in.

RACE 2: MATER HOSPITAL H'CAP - 1200M

CALLY STREET, which was fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin. Trainer G. Stewart was advised that a warning was being placed on the filly regarding its barrier manners.

Approaching the 1100m DANE BROGUE had to be checked when racing inside SPIELER, SOUTHFORK, SYNSATIONAL and ANNALISE. At a subsequent inquiry, stewards acknowledged that whilst SYNSATIONAL had contributed to the incident by shifting in and away from ANNALISE of its own accord, G. Baker, the rider of ANNALISE, was nonetheless reprimanded for failing to provide sufficient clearance when crossing. SYNSATIONAL, which raced greenly in this incident, continued to do so and had a tendency to hang in for some distance after leaving the first turn. Stewards intend to interview the connections of SYNSATIONAL in relation to its racing manners.

The Club's veterinary surgeon reported that SOUTHFORK was shin sore in the off foreleg.

RACE 3: HOLDEN H'CAP - 1200M

SUPER OCTANE, which was slowly away, was caught wide after the start and raced wide for the majority of the event.

On jumping away BAY OF PLENTY was tightened for room between LET'S GO RAW and LE JESTER which shifted ground.

A veterinary examination of ANALOGUE following the event failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 4: CLARION HOTEL POWERHOUSE H'CAP - 2240M

Trainer C. Erhart was fined $50 for failing to notify L. Hill as the rider of IMPOSITION by the prescribed time.

BUSH TRIUMPH was held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the straight.

Shortly after entering the straight TYALGUM POP was momentarily cramped for room when attempting a run inside the tiring IMPOSITION.

RACE 5: WYNDHAM ESTATE H'CAP - 1110M

CANTRIP made contact with the hind quarters of BURAN BREEZE near the 500m when attempting to improve.

When questioned concerning the seemingly disappointing performance of CANTRIP, S. Galloway stated that after being slowly away CANTRIP did not travel well and he felt that the mare may be better suited over a longer journey. Trainer's representative Mr M. Hawkes agreed with the comments of S. Galloway and a veterinary examination of CANTRIP failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 6: AUSTRALIAN RED CROSS H'CAP - 1350M

As P. Hammersley was stood down by the Club's medical officer, and as no apprentice was available, stewards permitted G. Baker to be substituted as the rider of MEASLES.

MALTESE PAPIA and KINGCIDON were both slow to begin.

RACE 7: CARLTON DRAUGHT H'CAP - 1350M

MIXADAD blundered on jumping away and then shifted out forcing JOHN SYN out on to INNER CITY.

LEEWIND jumped in at the start forcing MAJOR FORCE in on to GOLD EYE.

NATTIE jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

GUNGADIN turned its head as the start was effected and lost ground.

Approaching the first turn JOHN SYN and MAJOR FORCE were both inclined to overrace.

Both GUNGADIN and MRS. MORTY had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the straight.

When shifting out to improve leaving the 300m, GENTLEMAN CALLER inconvenienced LEEWIND.

Leaving the 200m GENTLEMAN CALLER shifted out under pressure taking GUNGADIN out on to MRS. MORTY which had to be steadied.

RACE 8: XXXX H'CAP - 1110M

STAR SENSATION jumped away awkwardly.

After travelling a short distance SLICK OPERATOR and MIGHTY CROSSING made contact.

Soon afterwards, SLICK OPERATOR was inclined to lay in, despite the efforts of its rider D. Gay, causing MIGHTY CROSSING to be forced in on to LEVANTE which became unbalanced.

Passing the 800m LEVANTE hung in despite the efforts of its rider R. Hurley, causing A THOUSAND DEGREES to be momentarily tightened for room.

Trainer D. Bell advised stewards that following the disappointing performance of SLICK OPERATOR, the horse would be sent to be spelled immediately.

STAR SENSATION cast its near fore plate in running.

ALL WINNERS WERE SENT TO BE SWABBED.

A veterinary examination of INTERSECTION, which returned to scale coughing, revealed that the gelding was suffering from a respiratory infection.

Leaving the 500m SPANISH ARRAY was steadied when momentarily crowded for room by SHARIFA ASMA.

A veterinary examination of PALTROW, which weaken badly, failed to reveal any abnormality.

COSMIC COMET and MRS. LEDDED made contact on jumping.

Near the 800m STYLE QUEEN was eased from the heels of HEROIC DUTY, which was losing ground.

C Small (BIG STEVE) was found guilty of a careless riding charge in that he permitted his mount to shift in approaching the 800m when insufficiently clear of SELF TITLED, causing that horse to be taken in and tightening the running of HEROIC DUTY, resulting in HEROIC DUTY losing ground when being checked and SELF TITLED being hampered. C Small was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 meetings to take affect as of mid -night 6-08-02 and to expire at mid - night 15-08-02.

ROCKLEA ROCKET jumped out and across the running of SUSIE QUE, which was slowly away.

WESTLYN ROAD, which was slowly away, shifted out abruptly on jumping. Trainer J Byrne was advised that the gelding was required to pass a barrier jumpout to the satisfaction of stewards prior to its next start.

At the start TARANA AVENUE and LET ME GO were hampered between REGAL SIREN, which jumped out and BLAZING SHARI.

Near the 800m NOT FUSSED was taken out by RECAF, which shifted out to avoid the heels of LET ME GO as the pace slowed.

Near the 700m SEQURA was eased when it improved to the inside of the heels of RECAF where there was doubtful room.

SUGURA, which was held up for clear running from leaving the 500m was eased near the 300m when crowded for room by ROCKIN' THE STARS, which was lying in.

SEQURA and ROCKIN' THE STARS made contact over the concluding stages.

RACE 1: IGA QTIS ADDED STAKES HANDICAP - 1600M

Approaching the 200 metres DANCING MAN had to alter course to the inside of CARAT OF GOLD to improve.

RACE 2: CALOUNDRA CITY HANDICAP - 1000M

OUTBOARD was slow to begin.

Shortly after the start OUTBOARD was hampered by PALAB which shifted in abruptly, taking OUTBOARD across the heels of ALL SUNSHINE.

When racing greenly after passing the 700 metres OUTBOARD was hampered by PALAB which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider J Hoopert..

PALAB which continued to race greenly passing the 600 metres, shifted out on to the heels of JAROSLAV and had to be steadied.

Approaching the 400 metres OUTBOARD improved up on to the heels of TOUCH OF LARCENY.

Near the 200 metres JAROSLAV shifted out under pressure and brushed RAISE THE LIMIT.

RACE 3: MAROOCHY SHIRE HANDICAP - 1000M.

Trainer L. Wheeler was fined the sum of $50 for failing to notify the gear change for SPICY BELLE.

Jockey A. Abrahams was fined the sum of $50 for failing to fulfil his engagement on SOUL PRINCESS.

LADY DAMOSEL reared on jumping away and lost considerable ground.

Near the 800 metres VOLCANIC ANGEL commenced to shift in and in taking GAELIC HONOUR in on to the heels of KALINGA PIE and had to be steadied.

Approaching the 600 metres PALS GAL had to be steadied when tightened for room between VOLCANIC ANGEL which was inclined to lay in and SOUL PRINCESS which was taken out slightly by CRIMSON CARNATION.

Near the 500 metres ZAMAALA ROSE had to be steadied off the heels of REGAL SAPPHIRE which shifted in.

S. Galloway rider of ICENI was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that near the 400 metres he permitted his mount to shift out and in doing so took PALS GAL out on to the heels of SOUL PRINCESS causing PALS GAL to be checked.
S Galloway was suspended for a period of 7 meetings to commence at midnight Wednesday 7th August 2002 and to expire at midnight on Saturday 17th August 2002.

Near the 200 metres SOUL PRINCESS had to be steadied off the heels of ICENI which shifted out. S. Galloway rider of ICENI was severely reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in future.

Jockey A Merritt reported the saddle on REGAL SAPPHIRE slipped during the event.

RACE 4: NORTH COAST PLUMBING HANDICAP - 1300M.

FRAMEWORTHY was slow to begin.

SECRET was forced to race in a three deep position for the entire event.

RACE 5: BLOOMHILL CANCER HELP CENTRE HANDICAP - 1000M.

WINNING BLIND was slow to begin.

Apprentice L. Fitzsimmons rider of SWIRLER was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that for some distance M Carson rider of MIGHTY BOMBER was forced to race in restricted room to the inside of SWIRLER. Near the 600 metres MIGHTY BOMBER lost his rightful position and as a result of this incident shifted out and made contact with PLUM'S GAMBLE.
Apprentice L. Fitzsimmons was suspended for a period of 6 meetings to commence at midnight on Thursday 8th August 2002 and to expire at midnight on Saturday 17th August 2002.

WINNING BLIND and ACE OF FRANCE were held up for clear running for some distance after leaving the 600 metres.

A post race Veterinary examination of WINNING BLIND revealed the gelding had pulled up with respiratory distress.


RACE 6: CABOOLTURE SPORTS CLUB HANDICAP - 1600M.

BROTHER BORRELLI was slow to begin.

For some distance in the straight UP TRUMPS was held up for clear running between HI DAD and UNDERGROUND.

RACE 7: TERRY WHITE CHEMISTS HANDICAP - 1400M.

MOONBI CHIEF was declared a late scratching at 4.06pm after being presented with work shoes. Trainer Helen Page was fined the sum of $200.
On the announcement of correct weight Stewards ordered that all monies invested on MOONBI CHIEF be refunded with deductions of 7 cents in the dollar for the win and 8 cents in the dollar for the place on the face value of win and place tickets being applicable.

Rounding the 800 metres turn SPLIT THE WIND was momentarily tightened for room inside of CAMBERWELL and SNOOPS which was taken in by THESPIAN PRINCE.

DANTE DIVINE raced green entire of race, shifting out on home turn taking POISED FOR GLORY wider on track.

POISED FOR GLORY was inclined to lay out over concluding stages of race.

PASSION KILA was inclined to get her head up in the air and shift in over concluding stages of race.

JESSIE THE CROONER was slow in to stride.

SPRING REGENT was slow in to stride.

After leaving the 750m MASTER ALANNON tended to over race, shifting in making contact with the hindquarters of HOUSEBREAKER causing that horses hindquarter to hit the fence.

Near the 150m HOUSEBREAKER had to be steadied to avoid the heels of UNITE AND PROSPER, which shifted out to improve. G Porter, the rider of UNITE AND PROSPER, was cautioned.

Near the 120m UNITE AND PROSPER shifted out minor contact with SNAZZY JO.

RACE 5: ST. AUGUSTINE'S OPEN H'CAP - 1250M

KARPANDA jumped out and SHANZAMAN jumped in hampering MOONLIGHTER at the start.

SHANZAMAN made the 900m turn wide.

Leaving the 400m MOONLIGHTER had to be steadied to avoid the heels of SHANZAMAN, which shifted in marginally.

EMINENT CHEVAL shifted in over concluding stages of race.

RACE 6: PICCONE'S IGA SUPERMARKET EDMONTON OPEN H'CAP - 1730M

MR. MARUMO was held up for clear running on the home turn.

Over the concluding stages PROFLIGATE had to be steadied to avoid the heels of NEXT IN LINE, which shifted out under pressure. K Mahoney, the rider of NEXT IN LINE, was cautioned.
