Multiple Adelaide metropolitan winning mare Get Set has run her last race.

The six-year-old mare suffered a bi-lateral bleeding attack during Wednesday's $40,000 Burke Urban Flying Handicap (1000m) at Murray Bridge but still managed to finish a credible third behind 2008 Oakleigh Plate placegetter Tramuntana.

Trainer Richard Jolly was advised by TRSA stewards that as it was the mare’s second bleeding attack, Get Set was now banned from racing in accordance with the Australian rules of racing.

Get Set raced three times at Listed level and was unplaced on all occasions.

She finished tenth in the 2008 Proud Miss Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville, seventh in the 2009 Oakbank Stakes (1100m) and eighth beaten just over three lengths in the Kensington Stakes (1000m) at Flemington earlier this year in January.

However the daughter of More Than Ready won four times in Adelaide and once at a Moonee Valley night meeting in March 2008.

The consistent galloper raced 27 times for six wins and ten placings with prizemoney standing at $175,405.

Jutland $21 was a farther length away third for Mick Whittle and Justin Potter.

Now the winner of two races in this calendar year having won the Wangaratta Cup in April Hawks Bay will now run in the 1600 metre Sale Cup on October 24 before being stepped up in distance for the 2000 metre Kyneton Cup on Wednesday November 3rd.

Not having raced since finishing fifth in the Oakbank Stakes in April Tramuntana gave trainer David Jolly and jockey Paul Gatt a one and three quarter length victory in the $40,000 main sprint race, the Burke Urban Flying Handicap.

From the Success Express matron Hip Hop and fathered by the Irish bred Singspiel, Tramuntara $6.50 came from fifth in the 1000 metre seventh race and beat Plumago $10 for mentor Brad Charry and rider Adrian Patterson. After being the early leader Get Set $6 was a half length away third for Libby Hopwood and Richard Jolly.

David Jolly said that Tramuntara will have his next outing in the 1100 metre Flying Handicap at Morphettville on October 30 before being prepared for another tilt at Christmas Stakes at Caulfield on December 26.

The Clangalang sired Weholdtheace, from the Danzig Connection mare Doubles Champion, was the first of four Murray Bridge prepared gallopers to win when the four year old was the long neck winner of the 1000 metre opening event.

Being under the care of Craig Stuart and ridden by David Tootell Weholdtheaces was well placed beat the another Murray Bridge trained runner, the Stuart Dodd trained Holly McKechnie ridden Ambitious Bride, the $3.30 favourite.

Smiling Princess $10 was a farther half length away third for Kym Buick and apprentice Jordon Frew giving Murray Bridge trainers the triffecta in the opening race.

Steered to victory by Adrian Patterson the Sue Murphy trained Iconseefraaraway $11 came from third to beat the John Croucher trained Jeffrey Maund mount Aurumcert $15 who finished a long head in front of Kooda Wonder $11 for John Dunn and apprentice Claudia Lions.

Winning his fifth race from twenty-nine raceday appearances Teairra, the public elect at $4.60, gave trainer Daniel J Clarke and jockey Matthew Neilson a one and a quarter length win in the 2200 metre fourth event.

Out of Florenette, a daughter of Vettori the Helissio fathered Teairra was in the action throughout the event and went on to defeat the Denis O’Leary cared for Mark Pegus ridden Asso Bello $5.50. Furline $6 was a farther one and three quarter lengths away third for Phillip Stokes and Paul Gatt.

After a unsuccessful trip to Melbourne where he finished sixth at Caulfield the Gary Kennewell trained Conservatorium, the $1.80 favourite, was the three quarters of a length winner of the 1200 metre fifth event giving Egan his second winner.

From Belong To Madan, a Belong To Me mare and fathered by Royal Academy, Conservatorium was no farther back than second and beat Missionary Man $4.40 for mentor John Hickmott and rider Todd Pannell.

The three-year-old filly by Redoute’s Choice left it late to break her maiden status, grinding down the outside to nab Magnifique Soleil right on the line, preventing Darren Weir from training back-to-back winners of the Hill Smith after Keep Control won last year.

Kittens ($4.40) defeated Magnifique Soleil ($1.90 fav) by a half head with Tale Of Thunder ($7) a further 3-1/4 lengths away in third.

Lalla Rookh ($101) added value to first fours while Milestone ($3.60) finished fifth for apprentice Jason Maskiell.

Kavanagh was pleased with the performance and said that Kittens would now race at Flemington over the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

“She’s beaten the boys today and it’s a nice race for her,” he said.

“She’ll probably go through the Wakeful and we’ll see how we go from there and whether we go onto the Oaks.”

Kittens has raced five times for a win and two thirds. She has now won in excess of $55,000 in prizemoney.

Meuring landed the first leg of his treble when the $16 chance Salvation scored a head win in the 1700 metre opening event giving jockey Matthew Neilson the first leg of a double.

Sired by the Irish bred Street Cry from a Barathea mare Je Desire, Salvation was in a rearward position early in the race before working herself to the front late in the event and going on to beat the early leader, the Leon Macdonald/Andrew Gluyas trained Clare Lindop ridden Novasaurus the $3.50 favourite.

The $4 returned Hendon was two and a quarter lengths away third for Michael McClean and Jeffrey Maund.
